Spurrier. But he faced the worst era of LSU football...we sucked in the 90’s.
Saban rebuilt the program.
Saban doesn’t necessarily scare me, but you know they will always have players.
Bear just had a demeanor about him and his teams just flat wore you down.

Spurrier. That was when rankings meant everything so he would mercilessly run up the score on everybody. But he eventually fell. After that he wasn’t so scary any more.

For aperiod of time, Spurrier was scary, but time caught up with him.

Given the resources he had to work with at StarkVegas, Dan Mullen's tenure at MSU was nothing short of remarkable.

Consistently competitive in the SEC W !?

Took a guy being offered schollys as a tight end at places like LSU and turned him into Dak Prescott!

Superior players scare me. Coaches aren't scary. They don't play.

Mullen scares me.

All of Saban's power comes from recruiting and not on the field coaching. There are dozens of coaches that given #1 recruiting classes almost every year could do as well.

To clarify I am not saying Saban is not a good game time coach, he just fields teams with more talent and depth every game.

Mullen can coach game day but he can't recruit and his teams are not disciplined. He will struggle to win the East.

We have good coaches in the SEC but none strike fear in me.

Agreed.

McFadden scared me.

Cam Newton scared me. No one could tackle him.

In the Tebow days, when Florida would spread us out wide then they had Tebow as a power rushing option and Rainey and Demps as ridiculous speed options. (Not to mention the Harvin days.) That freaked me out. There was no good way to defend them.

Steve Spurrier (when he was at Florida) and Bear Bryant. That's about it.

Georgia is recruiting well and should be a force in college football, if Georgia was in another conference most likely they would go undefeated and make the CFP often

I will give credit to Saban in that he changed his offense and hired coaches to play the aggressive style, Kirby has not. This is a strong statement when a defensive minded coach allows a fast pace offense on the field exposing his defense to very little rest. Kirby was a defensive coordinator and most likely is resisting the up tempo offense. My first thoughts when Aranda was hired by Baylor is Aranda going to try to equalize the balance of a fast pace offense RPO or more of run on first down and slow things down

I will follow Baylor close in the coming years and see how Aranda reacts being a head coach and the style of offense he tries to run.
