I apologize.
However he is doing it, I'd like him to stop with the rainbows on the deep ball, which seemed to become more prevalent as the season wore on. Maybe it was compensation for lack of arm strength, but we'll see. Proper coaching should fix a lot of things.
I'm a fan. I promise.

On a serious note, not good that Clapp won't be getting reps at center. He needs as many as he can get with Etling.

That, too, must be an off season development.

My goodness. Will you guys let the spring playout. The #2 slot could be huge for us.

If Scott is starting you can chalk up back to back shutouts
Now that's dumb

years off off seasons with Les talking up the QB and his great strides has left me very jaded and skeptical of this report
Canada gives me hope though that perhaps this time I can believe again....
Basically is exactly what Les says every year. Coach speak, even the one like us does it.

I wish Canada would be available to answer the question of who leads and to reassure us of open quarterback competition.
But should there be a leader now since spring practices do not start until Saturday.

why do you need reassurance of an "open quarterback competition"?
Isn't there a huge incentive to ply the best player and why would you assume otherwise?

Danny Etling needs to put on 35 pounds of muscle at least! Arm strength, leg strength is the name of the NFL.

He is 215. You think he needs to be ,ATLEAST,as big as Cam Newton and bigger than Tebow was in college?

Lindsey Scott will give Etling all the competition he can handle. And then some. Don't be surprised if....

Thats not throwing off your back foot. Throwing off your back foot is when you dont push off your plant foot and transfer weight to your front foot.

BH was very inaccurate of short and intermediate throws.
There is no scheme that allows its qb to be inaccurate on throws thats meant to get him in rythymn

isn't that the truth.

comments by coaches on the team are just fan fodder, imo. mostly what they say is for team consumption also. I have learned to pretty much dismiss it all and wait to see what happens.

exactly. hell, every year there is competition for the job. that's how Etling got it. I swear, I think some fans must think the competition for a position should entail some formal process with all participants starting at zero and then grades are given at each practice assigning differing values to different skill tests. at the end of spring, the one with the most points wins the job. if there's a tie, a multiple choice test can be given to determine the winner.
Posted on 3/7/17 at 4:50 pm to LSU GrandDad
It's a competition if your favorite wins the job. It wasn't a fair competition if he doesn't. That's how it works around here.

Etling to Chark (50 plus yards in the air.......)
And soon all of the QB scouts and coaches of the rant will be out in full force saying Etling cannot throw over 50 yards. The throw he made on that play was done with ease and it's obvious. His mechanics need some work, possibly, but his arm strength is there. Some just don't want to admit it, or see it.
