That’s great, but the 2019 comparisons by O are getting old…

Yep. So many people are going to get their feelings hurt over this, but your statement is accurate.

Saban is preparing for the next season by the time he walks off the national championship podium. Orgeron is going to live off of 2019 for his entire life.

It's the difference between good and great.

Well, if he's like Burrow, he's not a pussy and those things won't bother him. These kids don't come to a place like LSU to play of they're scared of pressure and expectations.
Sure. But why do that when it’s unnecessary. You don’t see Bill B coming out saying Mac reminds him of Brady. It’s just unnecessary.

Coach Orgeron tells the fans what he thinks they want to hear.

He has done this his entire tenure

This quote is meaningless

You can hate the mantra, but that's why he gets called a used car salesman.

Oregeron is raw and unfiltered. He's not thinking ahead too much. It's one of the best and worst things about him. It makes people like him which helps him in recruiting. But, he also doesn't seem to be very detail oriented and calculating like a Belichick or a Saban.

I'm getting to the point where I don't even want to hear him speak. Let 2019 go! It's about the 2021 team now. And stop comparing the offense to Joe Brady's offense or Aranda's defense. A high school coach knows this.

And that's exactly why LSU will never be consistently elite with him as HC.

So who do you have in mind to make us consistently elite?

He can be pretty damn close if he figures out the hiring process with the assistants. He's recruiting his arse off and he's a great motivator. The players obviously love him. We will find out a lot about him this year with so many new hires.

Agreed. One of my biggest hang ups is that he is always referring to 2019.

This was said as far back as 2017 when we lost to Troy and got our arse kicked by MSU. But we somehow beat #10 Auburn. It’s just so hit or miss sometimes. Like beating #6 Florida last year. I suppose we could be in worse situations. But it’s frustrating when we nail it sometimes but look like trash others. Can we do better? I don’t know. Should we strive for more? I don’t know.
