I always wished the keyboard warriors who mocked him as "shrimp boat captain" had the balls to tell him that to his face. Just visit the football office & tell him.
Alas, a lack of balls is characteristic of these now "fans" of Coach O.
And mocking "he's one of us". Who's not claiming him now??
I love that he shut their mouths...for a while.
O has more guts, intelligence & class than the flaccid keyboard warriors.
fuc dem !!

The disrespect he was given by so many of our own fan base made me sick, and it was parroted by even those outside of the fan base. Just glad things have worked out for him and so many others on this team that were told they weren’t good enough.

Frick all of 'em. Coach O is the shite, plain and simple. We honestly could not have a better figurehead for LSU Football. Coach O is Louisiana.

better coach than Les Miles honestly. Hate to say it... but true.

Anyone watch Les at Kansas on ESPN +?

I think Cajun French should be a required course for all the guys on the team. By the time they're juniors and seniors they'll be able to communicate openly on the field with each other and it'll totally stymie the other team's personnel. If I recall the stories correctly, the original Chinese Bandits did this regularly.

I’ve always been bothered by the whole “what language is that bs”

His gravelly voice is the only thing that some times makes it hard to deduce when he’s yelling.

Has nothing to do with his accent.

I’d also be tickled pink to see those people squirm and shy away from pointing out a black coach’s regional accent.

To people that have never been around that accent, I can see then not understanding him very well. It doesn't matter at all because Coach O speaking with that accent is playing for a national title and anyone that wants to poke fun will be watching him do so on tv.

These ESPN impersonations were cringy af. I imagine these are some of the impersonations from talking heads he refers to as inspiration

At least Coach O doesn't talk in bizarre cryptic circular generalities like Miles.
Also, I have YET to see any member of the media, reporters, announcers, emcees, questioners from the audience, interviewers, etc. EVER say the words: "Coach O., can you repeat that?"
The man has a deep, gruff voice. But if you can't understand him when he gives press conferences or is being interviewed or asked questions, you must be phukking deaf.
Bobby Hebert has a thicker Cajun accent than Coach O, and everyone seems to understand HIM.
It's people being lazy assuming that a deep, gruff voice somehow magically = an accent. Bullshyte...
And do we describe any OTHER football coaches by what they did as a summer job FORTY YEARS AGO ????

why do you hate to say it? It is pretty apparent now that Les was running this program like a blind man in a snow storm

The posters that mock Coach O are the same ones that have little Johnny at home. 3rd string guard on the middle school team. Also they are the same people that talk bad about some of our players. All they need to do is put some pads on, go out to practice and see the type of athlete it takes to even put on a football uniform at this level. They will never get it. After all, they just told little Johnny wait till next year.

Definitely cringy. Coach O has a gruff voice, and a southern accent, but his accent isn't near as difficult to decipher as that Crowley accent that Gov Edwin Edwards had. Sure, he sounds like a Cajun Cookie Monster, but then again he ought to. After all, he's eaten ALL the cookies that have been served to him and his team this year!
