I agree. We really have no idea how the coaching dynamic will play out during game week and game days, especially when faced with adversity. Some new faces in new places, but a lot of potential. I have to admit though, if they go 2-4 or 3-3 in the first half of the season, I may change my tune pretty quick.

Based on what I saw....not every game. But you can keep kidding yourself and toting that torch.
so he was fired and the coach he was replaced with doesn’t have the team ready for every game either. Sad. O was supposed to be an upgrade to miles. He needs to prove it this year

This would put O on death watch....and rightly so.

He deserves 2-3 years and is already halfway through that.

Wanting him out immediately was just unreasonable. But the dude was hired, and his contract indicated the same, to show immediate results

This will be his 2nd season officially as LSU head coach. He was interim before that, and did Quite well righting that Ship after a 2-2 start.

Granted last season started rough with the Canada issue of the players just not getting it and his thin skin bellicose attitude combined with the injuries transfers. And suspensions which left the team very thin on both lines forcing two true freshman into starting roles on the O line

I hope you didn't fall for this nonsense when it was being pushed down our throats. EVERYONE knows what the deal is with O.

He was a hire of convenience....nothing more.

Well he did do one thing that miles wouldn't do his last few years at LSU and that is Fire Cam. He made a bad hire in hiring the best
OC out there but at least fixed that mistake and now finally for the first time in years we will have a offense which at least gives us a chance. So for that I am grateful. We are back in the game for the first time in many years.

Are we sure that Cam was the problem? The guy put some pretty productive offenses on the field in the NFL, had a great season at LSU in '13 and set records in '15. IMO, Miles had him severely handcuffed. I would have been interested to see what he could have done under Coach O.

We don't know this for sure. I would have preferred a measured and thorough search for an OC. Maybe SE can catch lightning in a bottle who knows. But I'm not all warm and fuzzy thinking about what the O will look like moving forward.

Again, O is the king of intangible accomplishments. This is all speculation.

It's not like you to be measured and introspective. Why do you have one foot off of the bandwagon?

Well what does it matter if it was unreasonable? No one thought he'd be fired by now. However if we're sitting here at the end of a season at 7-5, we now have clear proof of program decline, not the arguable proof that we saw under Miles.

If God forbid we lose 6 games, he can justifiably be terminated after this season. Don't know how much more worse people would think things need to get at that point.

Couldn't have said it any better. I don't see how people can confuse potential with "being fixed." Potential is used as a proven positive way too much in reference to the upcoming season IMO.

We all know how this will end. It’s just a matter of when.

I'm not sure how anyone could argue with this too much.

Well if he doesn't prove it in the next 4 months, then he should be finished after that. He's had plenty of time to prove himself and if it's not done this year, he needs to hit the road. He doesn't have the resume to earn patience and he himself said this isn't rebuilding, this is reloading. If we weren't happy with Les giving us 10 wins a year, we shouldn't be happy with Ed O giving us 8 wins a year. Simple as that.

Fair. Based on the talent this team has They should win the west. O has everything he needs. If he can’t do it this year he needs to go.

I'm super pumped about the season. Always am before it starts....even when Les was driving the train.

That doesn't mean I've forgotten who our illustrious leader is. I'll turn on him and join your ranks when I feel he's screwed up enough.

He hasn't yet. I support him to an extent because I refuse to be that negative before we've even kicked off.

You can make a case for being pissed about Troy/State. But it's hard to completely condemn a coach for 9-4. He wins that ND game and things are a little rosier around here.

I'm willing to wait. We get blown out by Miami....I'm getting my pitch fork out of the closet.
