In an interesting turn, they had to "temporarily" appoint members to have a quorum of the athletic committee. There weren't enough athletic committee members to present the agenda item.

Why are they in hiding?

Why is Scott Rabalais in hiding and failing to report that they are hiding out?

Was not being present their way of trying to avoid blame if this blows up in LSU's face and they are forced to fire Orgeron in a few years and pay his huge buyout? Chandler Loupe has been pulling this stunt on the Baton Rouge Metro Council for years.

Every fiber in my being tells me this is wrong/not kosher. And that it is 100% LSUesque.

Here's how I imagine it.

One group is for Wade (and maybe not for the extension at this time).

The other group is for Wade (and maybe for the extension).

Group for Wade is fed up, and knows they can't accomplish what they want, so they don't show up. Group that is for Wade appoints people in their position for the vote, who they know fit their agenda.

You pass your vote. Continue operating like a corrupt bunch of bafoons, and life goes on.

In all of my dealings in business, I have never heard of the ability to appoint "temporary" members when quorum is not present. You simply DON'T vote. What good is it to be a board member, if they can temporarily appoint someone to vote for you if you can't make the meeting.

Wasn't his buyout increased to $10 million? That's a pretty substantial chunk of change. I'm aware that it decreases in increments, but there was no reason to increase the buyout to begin with. No other school is coming after Orgeron.

But there are people on here that think he is the greatest coach of all time. They can't comprehend that since he isn't highly sought after that it makes it stupid to tack on a huge buyout. We are bidding against ourselves, literally. If Orgeron has enough success here to where other schools start calling, then up the buyout. Right now it is all risk, and zero reward.

I have no issues with giving O a 2-year extension. My issue is with how this process looks. Appointing members temporarily seems fishy. Where are the other folks? Why aren’t they there? Sonething isn’t right.

You know, we don't really need any more updates on this guy's contract. It is what it is. He's not important right now.
