Good for CEO. I hope he earns a massive raise/extension in 2019!

contract extension approved by BOS by gotiger
In all of my dealings in business, I have never heard of the ability to appoint "temporary" members when quorum is not present. You simply DON'T vote. What good is it to be a board member, if they can temporarily appoint someone to vote for you if you can't make the meeting.

Eh. The ones I'm involved with can have designees to fill in. They're like proxies. I can vote in my boss's place. Granted, these are not committees formed by the state legislature.

No, he's a great recruiter and the players love playing for him providing him a great reputation and facilitating his recent top recruiting class and we want to minimize risk relative to negative recruiting. As we stand right now, LSU's 2020 recruiting class is currently ranked #4 consisting of 1 5-Star and 7 4-Stars, we don't wanna derail that progress by upending coaching stability. Is what it is.

This is what's driving the extension. The anti O crowd will never accept it because they can't see past the nose on their face. Whether it's valid or not I don't know but the people that sign the checks think it's valid hence the new contract. So the anti O crowd are reduced to crying in their corn flakes and we get to laugh at their wringing of hands and knashing of teeth.

Coach O deserves it!

I remember way back when losing 3 or 4 games a year and having a shite offense was unacceptable at lsu. But hell that was way back in 2016.

That's reason enough to question it right there.

And its utter ignorance from an utterly ignorant administration. No recruit has ever chosen a program based on a coach having a 3 or 5 year contract.

I dont see anyone really melting. I see people wondering why we are giving extensions to coaches that have won frick all and have yet to come close to winning at a rate that was promised by said coach and have yet to have a better offense than the offense that helped get the last coach fired.

But you cant see anything but your blind loyalty to a guy that did nothing but take unprovoked shots at lsu his entire career.

I don't have blind loyalty to anyone. The guy is the coach. Let him shite the bed this fall and you'll see how fast I turn on him. Right now I think he deserves our support until he doesn't. You can't see past your petty bullshite.

Unless he's fired tomorrow without cause, his buyout being $10MM right now is wholly irrelevant

The only problem I have is with the fact that they never consider doing a terrible job as a legitimate "cause" for termination.

If that was the case give him a 15 million dollar static buyout. IDGAF. If he's doing well why would we fire him.

(Obviously you have to define tangible goals/accomplishments to dictate what is good and what is bad)

On the flip side.. wtf does he get rewarded for getting fired if his "only" drawback was being bad at the job he was hired for.

I wish my employment worked like that.

Here is proof.
You think wanting him to do better than the coach we fired is petty.
Just further lets everyone know you have blind loyalty to a man that shite on lsu every chance he got before being hired here.
