I just recall thinking that it looked like he was completely unprepared during the game and when the announcement was made afterwards thinking that it made sense how poorly coached we looked.
Announcement was Christmas Day 2004. Iowa fans even had signs at the game making fun of us about it. One said "Got Coach?"

I wouldn't exactly call OSU an upstart. They won B2B titles not that long ago. They're newer money than LSU but they've had a great program for awhile now
