igoringa - CK has had a vision for this team since '08, which hasn't been fulfilled until this season. The dline that we will have this upcoming year will be the best ever. Our oline will be the same. I am not saying Oregon wins. WE have to build some cohesion. However, make no mistake - we will be stout in the trenches.

Remember the cool efficiency Darron Thomas displayed in the UCLA game? Remember the final drive against Cal? Remember the inside/outside Barner/James running game the Ducks put together in the Civil War? This team, in three weeks, will combine those moments of innovation and resolve to produce a game in Cowboy Stadium that is a thing of beauty. They’ll be ready. They’ll bust the myths and smash the stigmas. All the old, tired assumptions will be put to bed with a fast start and a hard finish.

Let's break that paragraph down...

Against the 94th ranked defense in America?

Remember the final drive against Cal?

The game you won 15-13 on a dubious illegal motion penalty? The one where you scored ONE offensive touchdown?

Against the 86th ranked Total Defense in America?

You aren't going to be playing any shrinking violets, homeslice. We've got a ground and pound offense with a ton of starts returning on our line, a dynamic bevy of ballcarriers, and some playmaking receivers.

Our defense is BETTER THAN ANYTHING YOU PLAYED AGAINST LAST YEAR.

I respect Oregon. I respect the Duck players, coaches, & the program, as well. But what's funny is that even the more informed of your fanbase ignores the fact that your defense is losing a ton, and is also down its best player in the secondary, and perhaps its best individual player on defense, period.

There are more questions for Oregon than there are for LSU, and its not even close.

If anyone's overconfident, its not LSU. We're just looking at facts.

Thanks Jet loses some dramatic affect but Mother fricking Tyrann Mathieu is our nickel back and he eats duck for breakfast (FYI Tyrann's duck omelets are delicious)

And those statements are both relative. Again, show me where you dominated the trenches against a quality OOC opponent in the past few years. Just one. Plenty of opportunities.

Colt at 6'5" 238 probably won't be the one Mathieu covers.

Michigan in the Big House in 2007 is the first one that comes to mind. And before you say they weren't quality, remember that they did beat the Tebow-led Gators in their Bowl Game that year.

They also lost to App St. FWIW, that Florida team was a middle of the pack SEC team that year with a overhyped QB.

Basically, if you are trying to justify your physicality to us, you have to do much better than that. Unless, of course, you are trying to justify to yourself which is understandable.

This is an entirely different line too.

You ducks can say Oregon is aggressive in the trenches all you want by listing heights and weight but fact of the matter is, as long as Chip Kelly is wearing the head set yall will be running a gimmick based finesse offense.

That's not a shot at you as it did lead you to an obscene amount of points and a BCS title appearance, but stop trying to act like you guys are something you aren't. You are not fooling anyone but yourselves.

2007. 2007. Yes 4 years ago, dominated the loser to Appalachian state the week before.

Anything with Chip Kelly as a head coach or is our point made.

Your oline and dline will be the awesome... based on hopes and dreams and expectations.. nothing less.

It is a very much put up or shut up situation... and quite frankly, once you venture outside your touch football league you have not been successful, with ample opportunity to be successful (boise, boise, OSU, aub etc...)

Dude, really?

They run the same offense that Florida runs. Same spread sets, same mid-line option plays. They put more of a premium on speed and weren't running as many traps & dives with the QB, but that's because few folks have the personnel like a Timothy Tebow or your boy Scam Newton.

But, to say the Midline Option is a gimmick-based offense basically means you should stop talking and go read up. I mean that in all seriousness.

Sure it is. Which is why I find claims of 'stoutness' based off of not even a track record a little rich.

Hiemuli, Jordan, Keliikipi, et al. pushed their senior counterparts to the point that the rotation was seemless. Furthermore, Heimuli and those guys are saying to watch out for guys like Remington.

Sure, it could end up being hyperbole. However, after following the team for decades (2), I think this is our best defense ever.

So Oregon loses players on the lines and one magically becomes the best ever and the other stays just as good, while LSU's losses on the line are a huge issue?

Hard to argue with such sound, fundamental logic. We'll be lucky to keep this game close.

I don't see your losses as huge. In fact, I am not commenting at all on your line. I said that the interior is inexperienced. I am sure your guys can reload and will do that. However, I don't think you will be as stout as Auburn, specificall in the interior.

Our dline did a good job against Auburn. Nothing came easy for auburn.

If you don't block our tackles, we'll be even better.

Promise.
