Bison - The lady stated she rented car on Friday for herself to use over the weekend. Then allowed the other men to use it the remainder of weekend. Yet she said they paid her for the use and she made the deposit of the money on Friday. They took posession of car on Friday and she never intended to use it for her self, she rented it for them. This woman is telling only a half truth that she did rent and they did give her money.

She had to leave town on Friday as well. They wanted it the rest of the weekend. This thing seems really stupid and Cliff, in the end, showed terrible judgement going 118, especially within that context. How would you like to be a fly on the wall when Chip Kelly meets with Cliff?

Damn, dude... You got this whole sanctimonios martyr shite down. Even if it wasn't done deliberately, that doesn't mean it isn't a violation. Oregon's compliance department already realizes this is likely a problem.

Williford said there is a possibility the woman violated NCAA rules by giving Harris the car. He said UO officials have talked with the employee and will continue talking to her. The school has also alerted the Pac-10 conference about the possible violation.

And in cases like this schools generally err on the side of harshness to keep the NCAA out of their business. There's a good chance that some playing time will be sacrificed. Now stop being a whiney bitch.

Sounds good, but theres a HUGE, glaring hole in your story.

How did the young lady get back home? She wasn't inside the car when Cliff, 'let off into her'. If they dropped her off above Blue River like she claims, then why did they not pick her up on the way home? How did she get home?

The girl says she has bank statements showing payment.

This is what doesnt pass the smell test. She claims the person she gave the car to for cash had a valid DL. Why didnt that person rent the car from Hertz himself? Why would she violate her rental agreement by giving the car to a third party and open herself up to liability?

quote:

"So, I rented the car for my own purposes on Friday. Cliff Harris and his licensed friend, who showed me his license, asked to borrow it and paid me the full amount in cash that I paid for the rental," said the woman

"I do have a copy of my bank statement, showing two deposits Friday of $180 and $120."

Why two seperate deposites after she admitted he gave her the full amount? I also find it suspicious that they would supposedly pay $300 bucks in cash for a car that rents for around $35 a day. That is roughly a 1 week rental.

I don't know about you, but when I rent a car It's because I NEED it. If she reserved a vehical for a week or longer, why would she turn around and "rent" it to someone else?

do y'all expect Oregon to get the death penalty because a kid drove an Altima?

can an Altima even go 118?

The NCAA isn't going to do anything to Nike's favorite school.

I know having the best Corner Back in the game is frightful, but he is going to play. He can work out his driving privileges and fines another way. And that is between him and the department of motor vehicles.

you do know that we have a future 1st rounder at CB right???

I think people are responding to the attitude of some Duck fans that this isnt a big deal and the kid probably wont even get suspended.

FWIW...IMO...Driving 118 MPH is right up there with downing a 5th of Jack and getting behind the wheel.

No. Read the top of this page or last. This is more than likeky going to end up like Green at UGA or Dareus at Bama. 1-2 game suspension. Money to charity. Thats it.

He commited a class A felony and did so with a suspended DL. Add to the fact that this will also be a secondary NCAA violation for improper benifits...........and I dont see how he doesnt at least get suspended for 1-3 games.

Boy, you would sure hate living in Germany, seeing all those cars go so fast all the time there. Its not uncommon to see a motorcycle or car approach near 200mph there. And even my birth State, Montana. They never had a speed limit for the longest of times. And yet when you look at the statistics Germany has way less accidents and deaths on the road vs America and same with Montana when they had no limit. I think you will find out West people have different attitudes about going fast on the roads. And if you made that comment to a German they would just laugh at you. And by the way, its not like they are relaxed in everything. I do not know if this is true, but I heard in Germany if you get a DUI its a one year license ban. If you get another, you loose your right to drive for your entire life.

Actually each State sets its own driving laws, not to mention gun laws, marriage laws, most laws. In Oregon it is not a Felony. It is only a traffic citation, unless a cop has also cited a person for reckless driving. In Cliffy's case, he was not cited for that. Just like with Masoli's case a year ago, many in SEC land complained about Masoli getting to drive off with being busted for a little weed in his car. In Oregon it was just a simple little citation and off he went.

This traffic citation did not happen in LA, but in Oregon. And as far as improper benefits... That is a joke. I know you would love to see our best Corner not be able to play, but Cliffy will be playing against LSU. In a month this will be a non story.

You're right. It is a class A traffic violation which carries a $1,000 dollar fine (provided it is a first offense), 30-90 day DL suspension. That is assuming he didnt get reckless driving tacked on. Plus driving while suspended.

As far as WANTING him to be suspended because I think LSU has a better shot at winning?....what a joke. I think the piece of shyt should be suspended because he DESERVES to be suspended.
