LSU Tiger Stadium should remain closed for the fall

quote:

Tiger fans and LSU students might be upset at what an LSU professor of epidemiology has to say about football returning to Tiger Stadium.

According to a report in LSU’s student paper, The Reveille, Professor Edward Trapido says if it were up to him college sports should not return to LSU at this time.

“Certainly, if it were to happen now, no. It’s just too big a crowd,” he told the student paper.

LSU Tiger Stadium SHOULD open and be running like normal. If you’re scared of this virus...stay home. But stop trying to crush the economy and keep closing everything. People need football.

An epidemiology professor predicting doom and gloom and advocating for more massive shutdowns to keep the spotlight on the virus and people glued to their TVs in fear listening to others like him?

Shocker.

That’s not a report, that’s an opinion.

And a dumb one.

Actually I was hoping to bring my oldest son to his first game this year.

There are other immunologists who have argued the exact opposite. I’ll see you your scientist and raise you one.

What epidemiologist, scientist, immunologist, etc has said it will be wise to have 90k in a stadium? Seriously asking. I hope we have football but if we do it’s going to be a weird season with key players inevitably missing time because of the virus. There could be games where half a position room may not be able to play. That could very well happen.

He should not accept his salary and push for every professor to not accept a salary...to help the University off set its massive loss in revenue...while helping curve Covid.

Don’t post this with that type of title “REPORT:” like it’s a legit source. You’re the problem. Keep that fake news on Facebook. When it comes from Woodward I’ll believe it.

Who listens to experts and doctors? Supreme leader trump is a self proclaimed genius and we are now the world leader in spreading a disease. Masks are for communist countries who don’t have the same success we do in infection rates

Just because someone who studies science says something doesn’t make it true. If they can cite statistics and data that come from well-researched studies that have led them to that conclusion, then we should consider the data and see their claims as valid. The article on the interview included nothing more than conjecture though, and unless they can support their claims with well-researched data, we should take what they say with a grain of salt.

And if we did that we would need the government just to be able to survive. It’s almost like that is exactly what the big government folks want.

PER CDC LAST FRIDAY 99.5 Recover just fine.

It is time people start talking to doctors on the front line, taking care of these people in the ICU, and ask us what we want to do. I am done with the academic ivory tower people.
I, and my group of doctors, say open back up.
