Sounds good. I'd recommend making it clear that we know our movement isn't going to get White reinstated for the game, but it's been a rallying call for exactly what you said: to have the targeting rule reexamined and enforced fairly and consistently without jeopardizing player safety

Isn't Steve Shaw responsible for making the final call of the Targeting call?
Isn't Steve Shaw a Bama Graduate. How in the frick are these simplicities being ignored on a national level?

"Our purpose (beyond just being fans) is to seek changes in the targeting rules and to seek consistent officiating on those rules. We do NOT want to change the rules in any way that would degrade player safety. We do believe the present rules are not achieving that end and are harming the game. A lot of prominent former players, including Tebow and Herbstreit, seem to agree."
Hahah that statement reminds me of Taggert and Hedley Lamarr.
quote:
Hedley Lamarr: My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Taggart: God darnit Mr. Lamarr, you use your tongue prettier than a twenty dollar whore.

And we definitely need an appeals process outside of any conference governing body.

Another great point. Noted.

I grew up in VERY rural Louisiana. English is a second language. The ability to write (and speak) as well as a "twenty dollar whore" was hard won.
That said,
Mais, I can talk me some shite in Cajun too. It ain't like dat Debin White pee-layed him or nuttin. We wuz all hollin' "gardez donc" when we saw dat yella bandana. Merde!!!!!!

Nice, and don't forget to mention the charity aspect of all of this. You'll do great!

So excited about the interview! The suggestions about the targeting rule change being our focus are spot on.
But if the opportunity presents itself, I would mention that an Alabama official has the final say in all decisions regarding officiating in the SEC and supervises all the officials, and our position is that The Head of SEC Officials should not be an SEC School graduate.

The way to mention that is to ask for more stringent policies as to who and who not should serve in such a capacity, and that oversight should fall directly on the NCAA.

This also reinforces the fact that there is a Bama bias. They are hardly ever flagged for anything and mysteriously LSU always gets the short end of the stick.

Reinforces nothing like that because that is not what this is about. What it does do is prevents anything like that from happening in the future, because that isn’t something anyone, especially the fine folks in alabama, would ever want...

There should be more transparency in the entire replay/review process. Besides having truly neutral/unbiased Officials, why don’t they also have these conversations recorded? The whole system needs to change. Including the fact that head coaches/AD’s are not allowed to criticize the SEC Officials when they screw us.
