It is a crime that the Union is closed for football games. Total lack of leadership here.

It started with Covid. No real reason to keep it closed.

Typical government run business decision. The don’t care about the people they serve, and they don’t have to provide good service to generate revenue.

You see the mass of kid in front of the Union about 4pm and you understand why it’s closed.

IIRC it was crime that closed it down. Several large brawls and a consistent criminal presence on game day. I guess it's no longer profitable for LSU otherwise they would keep it open

High school kids trashed it one year. It’s been closed on game days ever since.

some thread a couple of years ago about it becoming a game day hangout for high school tPOS, starting fights and harassing old people, or something to that effect

Wow I didn’t know this. The first floor always had games on and had some good seating. It was a great place to beat the heat for a few hours

for all of the malice this place gives boomers, when I went to LSU there was hardly anything completely closed and locked up, I'm talking 24/7, and there was no theft or vandalism, the union, on game days, was kind of of place that families and alums not into hardcore tailgating would visit before games

Probably from the same people who declared LSU's Athletic Department's support of Pride Month.

One law enforcement officer out front handing out MIPs and those kids would scatter. They don't even need to really go out of their way to check ids. Just the threat of it would probably be enough.

TGBFTL was all we needed

there were two national polls taken, don't know if there was an actual competition, several years apart, one by Chevrolet, don't recall the other that named TGBFTL as the kickass band in the country

Lol you aren’t lying, remember tons of my friends getting them in 2011. We use to think that was the biggest BS on game day

Boomers get malice because they are in charge now and talk about how everything was great but now bad. That’s the boomers fault!!!! The greatest generation set you guys up and flopped.

Right, it was an award handed out by Chevrolet, but that was a Loooong time ago, back when the telecast of the game showed the halftime performances of the bands. Must have been the late 1960's. There used to be plaque on Tiger Stadium commemorating it, but I'm not sure if it's still there.
