Wrong. LSU is the most successful college baseball program in America over the last forty years; it didn't get that way without administrative support

Yep. LSU baseball isn’t lacking in administrative support. It’s just that other schools are catching up to the amount of administrative support that LSU has.

It’s crazy that baseball is in the red financially and has the highest attendance in the country. How much in the red are other SEC programs? It’s not even about money anymore. Everyone just wants to win.

I mean, Tony V had no pro experience, is definitely a guy who wants control and the Giants hired him.
Having no pro experience was only one of the descriptors. Besides that and being college coaches I highly doubt you could name any other similarities between the two.

I’m sure it would go over real well the first time he tried to tell MLB and TV execs the start time of a playoff game had to be delayed 7 hours even though the weather is fine, just because there is a 40% chance of rain 2.5 hours after the game is scheduled to start.

Yeah I don’t think he would turn down a pro job for that reason. Obviously he wouldn’t be able to move the games. I think that would be something he would have to deal with if he went.

But that’s the thing. It is a thing now that it’s happened. And Jay has two championships to Tony’s one. A program would hire him in a second.

But I do ultimately think he doesn’t go anywhere.

Pretty sure baseball is fairly revenue neutral at LSU and A&M. If they are in the red, its negligible.

Sheerin was one of the few players showing any emotion today. I think he should be our Sunday starter next week.

This whole “jay won’t sleep until it’s fixed” shite is deeply lame. I doubt he went into this season looking to field the worst LSU baseball team in two decades and I doubt he believed he had the worst team in 20 years before the season started. There’s no guarantee he knows how to fix it or is capable of doing it. Prior performance does not guarantee future returns.

It’s not ok to field horrific teams at LSU just because we think you’re going to try not to do it again. This has been a pattern with Johnson at Arizona and LSU.

The only thing “deeply lame” is this statement.

Were you the same people saying “Coach O will turn it around” at the end of the 2020 season? Just checking

You don’t have to suck his dick to give credit for playing the portal game as well as possible more than once on the way to 2 titles. Missing on one class doesn’t mean he suddenly doesn’t know shite, and that’s exactly what your comment implied.

Because O’s record before and at LSU are exactly the fricking same as Jay’s right? Sorry, I guess I missed that 2nd title O won here and his BCS run at Ole Miss.

Anyone who compares Jay to O is a fricking retard.

Lmao you don’t think the guy who has made it to 3 national titles and won 2 of them knows how to fix a bad baseball roster?

The long ball hurt the mentality of this team as the younger guys are all trying to be the home run hitter instead of just hitting the ball. The HR will come if they just practice discipline at the plate. A &M a good example of plate discipline, they rarely swing at bad pitches. It seems we take a whole lot of first pitch strikes. Strength and conditioning needs to improve as well as plate discipline, and most of all the don't give a damn attitude needs to change and this falls on the Curiel, Milam and Brown.

Tbh, he needs about 5(position player)studs(real talk) and another starter w/ about 3 decent relievers to flip the script.

Only ones I see that can be "legit" starters for next season are

Bide
Serena
Braun

The rest who return that have played should not be at lsu. Ill leave it at that. Jmo.

Evans
Smith

I’d think so retard, but I wouldn’t think a guy who made it to 3 national titles and won 2 of them would’ve put together this shite show either but here we fricking are.

Answer this- is recruiting a problem? Did that suck this offseason? How many true freshmen are starting and contributing? How many from last year are contributing this year?

You MIGHT have a halfway decent point if all evaluations were off across the board, but that’s just objectively not the case. If anything, it’s an issue that we lost 2 or 3 program recruits who are now contributing elsewhere. Whether that was Jay’s call, the players’, or a combo, he flat-out said last weekend that losing them was an issue. He also made it pretty clear that recruits will be prioritized going forward.

The data is clear. This season’s portal class is an outlier based on the previous 4 year’s results and talent evaluation has not been a problem across the board. It was a problem in portal recruiting in one specific off-season, and we all have a very good idea as to why that is.
