With as many DBs that LSU has had you don't think I can get one later? Whitworth started more games than anyone else in LSU history when he left. Not sure anymore with upwards of 14 games played in a season now. Far from a plug in LT.

That would be his first, if so.

Plug in meaning you can put La'el Collins at LT and have a superior talent at that position. Although Whitworth was a very good player and LSU is DBU, Patrick Peterson is the best DB to ever play at LSU and arguably the best overall player ever. He was the best DB in college football of possibly the last decade. He's an extremely rare talent. Whitworth isnt.

4 year starter at LSU and 7 year starter so far in the NFL. Yeah, those come around every day.

Of course they dont, but that still doesnt mean that he's an extremely rare talent like Peterson is.

A smarter pick is a great LT over a great CB...Whitworth was exactly that. It won't sell tickets, but it will win football games.

Whitworth is the best OT LSU has had since Faneca (he played OT at LSU). PP7 is the best LSU DB since Cassanova (a 3 time All American and multiple Pro Bowler) and may be the best in school history. Whitworth is a very valuable player, at a valuable position, but I don't how he compares to an ultra-elite talent like PP7. Also, you have to remember that PP7 also returned punts ... for touchdowns.

So you'd rather have Andrew Whitworth and Mo Claiborne over La'el Collins and Patrick Peterson. Why are people so content on throwing out cliche's that dont even apply. "It wins more football games" is a belief in the NFL because if your 100 million QB has an extra half-second to step up and throw then you have a better shot at winning. Everyone in the NFL can play, that's not the case in college. When a talent is so rare like Peterson, who is a player that can effect the game in multiple ways, you have to take him.

His leadership, and as one of the best athletes in LSU history.

I'd actually take Whitworth and Claiborne over Collins and Peterson. But if I could only take one, Peterson.

Is the objective to win a championship? If so the most critical position is the QB. The only championship winning QB of the Les Miles era is Matt Flynn. I'll take Flynn.

That is certainly more reasonable than Whitworth.

I agree. Kinda surprised it took four pages of comments for someone to say Flynn.

With that criteria, Rohan Davey would be in the mix (not from the Miles era, so pointless for this thread, Rohan just deserves props whenever possible).
