Checking in here!

Anyone been to the bars in the square? How is their bar scene in general?

That's good to hear. I'm very much looking forward to seeing Ole Missdial for the first time. I am more into taking in the scene than checking knuckles on baws, so we should be good. Getting pumped about the upcoming trip, for sure.

No music, no beer unless in a cup, no cooking, and 20,000 people in one little bitty area, stadium sucks, worst fans in the country. It is a horrific place

Square is semi cool, library is huge but will have a $25 cover for the weekend.

I've been a couple times but no longer waste my road trip there. They really should be forced to join the Big 12 or something.

Bars are definitely their redeeming quality. The library is the best but will have a $25 cover. Roosters, Irie, (spelling) The Ribcage, The levee, (I think this is a mostly underage bar though), and Funky's are all good.

Only others I've been to are Taylor's Pub, Frank and Marlee's, I think the Corner Bar, and the Burgundy room, none of which I liked.

I think they have opened a couple more since the last time I went. Some kind of sport's bar maybe.

Be prepared for the bars to close at midnight. The first time I went and they turned the lights on at midnight I was like what the hell did somebody drop something on the floor? Nope get out.

Went a few years ago when they had like 38 guys missing and we were supposed to run them out of the stadium.

Fun before the game but after was sketchy thinking we may have to defend ourselves meeting our ride in the grove

Other than that about like cutting out a hemorrhoid with a butter knife.

It's a fun road trip. I liked the campus. I was there in 2013 when LSU lost. Brutal being in that environment after a loss but that's the risk.

This. I like going, been three times and the fans are not that bad. I've been there for three brutal losses(im not gonig this year dont worry).

Stay in Memphis Friday. Head to the game/grove sat morning. Its a small stadium so you get to sit close to the field.

It is in the middle of nowhere. The parking is ridiculous. It is usually cold and windy. The OM fans are rude and obnoxious.

All true and the year we went LSU got their arse kicked. Had a good time in the square the night before and fun walking through the :stuffy" grove. Froze our asses off, got drunk and got cussed out. Good times!!

For the most part, the fans are friendly. However, for a school that hasn't been relevant in 45 years, they have a rather arrogant fan base. I would go if I had free tickets & somebody else drove.

My favorite road trip. Oxford is fun, pretty, and everything is easily accessed. The stadium is not what I could call impressive, but lots of good seats. Definitely make this trip.

totally depressed that my trip got cancelled monday. behind athens and tenn, it's my favorite road trip. i was going to beale st fri night which is fun. i really like going to the square before the game. no matter what the records are, rebs show up for lsu. the grove and the stadium will be packed. anyone who says the grove is not impressive is just being obtuse. it's an amazing scene.

I have been to Ole Miss for a number of games and have always had a good time. I was planning to go this year, but will be attending a wedding in the afternoon. If you have never been I recommend.

There will be a lot of really good looking ladies walking around.

There is a quiet confidence about this game around the state of MS. They can score points. It’ll be a tight game.

I think it’s a good place to go watch a game. Their fans aren’t too bad. Hot looking woman everywhere. Oxford is a cool little town. It’s funny though their girls get all dressed up and ours show up in Daisy Duke shorts and T-shirts with cowboy boots on and look equally hot just in a different way. There is something in the water in Louisiana and Mississippi because both states sure have some beautiful women.

The worst place I’ve ever been as far as fans being dicks is War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock. I’ve been to everywhere but Mizzo half a dozen times at least and Hog fans are the worst about screwing with you.

no beer unless in a cup,

Jesus allows absolutely NO visible beer or alcohol, opened, unopened, or otherwise as you are entering "The Grove". The University's Finest will make you stop and pour out every single drop before you throw it away. You can't just toss it in the big dumpster. You HAVE to pour it out. It must be in a cup, or in an ice chest, or a brown bag, or something. You can't carry a 12er of Natty Light or a 6er of Bud Heavy into the grove unless it is concealed in something.

So, if you are heading to the Grove, have your alcohol in a non-descript cup. That way, you will fool Jesus, and He won't have the cops make you pour it out.

Also, many OM fans in the grove will offer you corn dogs. Go ahead. Take one. Or five. Corn dogs are delicious. But, they will also want to take your picture so they can photoshop a dick in place of the corn dog later...

I made the trip two years ago because I hadn't gone before. I can scratch it off my list. Don't plan on going back.

Go to Hell Ole Miss.
