this is so revealing and I bet BK doesn't even acknowledge the implication of it.

MY GOD!!!!!!!! Stop! They can't run with RBs and worse they don't try. They threw the ball 60% of the time. Thats not on Nuss.

And was our longest gain of the day, 10 yards

It is asinine to put all of your eggs in the non-mobile QB basket in this day and age

What I can't figure out is that Kelly has always preferred a mobile QB when he had the option and even went and got JD

You don't need an NFL line when your QB is mobile, and he doesn't have to be an NFL pocket passer when the passing lanes are opened up

On top of that, when the field shortens by the goal line, his mobility is magnified when defending against it.

Paying Kelly $10M is such a waste of resources. At least he gave a million back to the kids.

You said nothing regarding my comment that Nuss had many opportunities to tuck and run with a THREE man rush. When the QB can't see that and his pocket awareness is putrid, it's time for him to ride some pine.

And Sloan should have see that and run the ball more on 3rd down. or at all. You cant win vs bad Rush D when you throw that much.

Would it be nice if Nuss could run, yes. But you dont NEED a running QB to win, you need competence in playcalling and scheme. That boils down to how bad Sloan is at adjusting.

Who are the five dumbasses that downvoted this??

I’m sure one was the guy in this thread who swears by Nuss’s athleticism.

gain, you're putting everything on Nuss when the OC is the problem. You just want to be bailed out. I want competence.

LSU never tried to establish a running game vs Ole Miss. The top four rushing leaders for the Tigers had 15 attempts for 59 yards; nearly four yds/ attempt. I believe if LSU has focused on a run game from the outset they could have made serious inroads into that "vaunted Rebel (Land Shark?) defense."

The focus was all on Nuss from the getgo. Nuss was a statue the whole game; there was no adaptability in the LSU offensive gameplan from the outset--Ole Miss knew that. Nuss continually threw the ball into double, even triple coverage.

Running the fricking ball more than 22 times on a bad defense and take pressure off of pass game. Believe it or not, you can make a defense change their plan if you execute.

Then why the hell doesn't the QB scramble when the field is wide open on a three man rush?

You know, a QB can be impactful in small amounts, if they have the desire to.

Again, it would be nice if Nuss would run more, but if you don't try to run the ball traditionally it doesn't matter. You shouldn't have to rely on your QB to do that. It should be cherry on top.

When you have a statue at QB that does nothing to take advantage of a 3 man rush, that is what you get.

Its on a Coach to take advantage of a drop 8 rush 3. Sending 4 guys on routes against 8 defenders in pass coverage is not intelligent. They are able to do it because they were getting home on simple stunts. Nuss is clearly not himself and shouldn't be playing but I am getting so tired of comments like this blaming the player.

The offensive scheme is broken. When you get pressure on a 3 man rush because the offensive line still cannot pick up a stunt thats coaching. When you have 3 different receivers within 6 yds of each other on the route concepts on several plays that means that the coaches are either teaching it wrong or they're not putting the players who know the routes or play call. Not being able to run the ball is not due to Nuss being the QB. They are getting beat and not having their eyes on the correct defender. Its a coaching issue. How does Curne come in and play better than the player he replaced when he couldn't see the field? Coaching.

Two things can be true. Nuss is not playing well but the offensive system as a whole is broken. Not acknowledging that is just ignorant. MVB gets put into this shite show and he is going to look bad too. Because he is going to be asked to do shite that he is not good at. He won't be able to throw the ball over the middle in the intermediate passing game. He has struggled with that his entire time at LSU. And to trust Sloan to put together an offense friendly for his style is laughable at this point.
