Ole Miss is why we beat Okie.

Our defense got a swift uppercut from Ole Miss. It was embarrassing to a very proud defense. If I'm right, the coaching staff sees the similarity between the two teams. The players take it personally. They will be prepared for that offense
Hurts won't beat us with his arm. I'd be willing to wager that Hurts doesn't get 100 yards.
Geaux Tigers!!!

It was the wake up call they needed. Since that game, the defense held opposing teams to 12.3 points per game on average.

Really, it's all about Jalen Hurts. Stop him, and we win going away.
Outside of Ceedee Lamb and Hurts, they've got no players that would even make LSU's roster.

OU will certainly test our defense. Lamb vs. DBU will be a fistfight all night.
Hurts is good passing from the pocket but shite passing on the run, but when he's flushed from the pocket is when he's most dangerous with his legs. So you have to get him running and then stop him before he makes big plays on the run. He's similar to Ehlinger but not quite the passer Sam is.
Aranda has had a good game plan against Hurts before, so I have to trust that he will again.

Held him to 10 points before and that was against alabama talent.
Made him throw to win.
Flip the page to 2019. It's unlikely that lsu scores less than 35.
Only auburn and a wet field kept lsu under 30.

LSU came off a very physical/emotional game AT Bama. That game took it’s toll on LSU the following week.
That said, Plumlee’s speed is a notch above anything I’ve ever seen including RBs. As a Tiger fan, it was hard to watch. However, that game was never really in doubt. It was the perfect storm for a Tiger defeat. But LSU’s offense was unstoppable as usual...damn did I say that! LOL!

Hurts is not Plumlee in any manner. Yes Hurts is mobile but not cat quick like Plumlee. That is going to be a huge difference in itself.

The defense is healthy. With that said, Jalen Hurts is dangerous. He’s a championship caliber player. Let him run loose, the offense opens up. Bottle him up, they have a long day. I firmly believe Aranda has something up his sleeve for this game.

I agree people keep pointing out what Ole Miss did and how OU can do the same thing but no one mentions that lsu has on film how not to defend those plays with their personnel and can fix them for this game.

Thankfully, Chumlee couldnt hit the broad side of a barn

Hurts is way slower than Plumlee and a MUCH better passer.
Better offense too with better weapons.
They aren’t that similar.

You may very well be right.
That was the game the national press used to drop us to #2 because of our defensive performance. We were a) banged up, and b) in a post Bama trap game.
Coach Amanda admitted he should have pulled his team aside and made an adjustment right after the first long run, but didn’t.
The TN connection of Jacoby Stevens and Jacob Phillips plus Thorpe Award winner Grant Delpit will shine in this game as they shut down Hurts.

This seems to be a thing with O's teams. A team embarrasses LSU in some way. Adjustments are made and things just don't go back to whatever the problem was.
In reality, I think we have the current team because of the Troy loss. That was the impetus for the "every game is critical" attitude that LSU seems to actually follow now. That is why we even win the games where we have some holes show up.
Think about this, our two games against weak SEC teams that were not as dominant as expected were a 28 and 21 point victory.
