Re-watched the LSU - Ole Miss game 2 times on TV, that is the first game I can remember being replayed on TV a number of times.

We lost to A&M 20-18, but that’s only part of the story. Not a favorite memory but part of the history.
I had gone home that weekend and listened to the game on the radio. Could not believe they scored, don’t recall seeing a reply so don’t know what happened.
The fans were focused on ND that year after we got screwed out of a bowl game by them & the cotton bowl the previous season. The defense played great, T. Casanova shut down their best WR, Gatewood, but they scored 3 & we got shut out. We got revenge next year though. Even though we lost some think LSU may have caused Theismann to not get the Heisman.
We were 9-1 in ‘69, lost by 3 to Ole Miss led by Archie, and did not go to a bowl cause ND decided to go to a bowl late & the cotton took them. ND had a self imposed bowl ban back then for some reason. All the other bowl spots were filled by then & LSU stayed home. Should have been in a NY day 1970 bowl game.

Was my Sr year at LSU. Watched the Notre Dame 3-0 game at South Bend on big screen in the gym armory. Crowd was like being in the stadium. Great defensive battle. Late interference call (bad call) allowed them to kick the winning FG, BOOOOOOOOOS rang out.
The Cow Palace was rocking watching the Pistol.
Played Nebraska a tough bowl loss in the Orange Bowl. They were really good.

Correct. Stopped them four times inside our ten yard line, once stonewalling their fullback from the six inch line. Loudest game in Tiger Stadium until SoCal in '79.

At the end of the Ole Miss game everyone threw oranges on the field because we were headed to the Orange Bowl. Some guy also recorded a song called “Archie Who at LSU” about the game. You could buy it on 45 records at the local convenience stores.

Most of the highlights have already been noted.
We were preseason #12 but lost our first game to A&M (18-20). Our other regular season loss was to Notre Dame (0-3) in South Bend.
I think we were on TV 3X: ND, Bama, and OM. The OM game was moved from its traditional Halloween weekend to early December. Don't recall why. There were only one or two games on TV each weekend (I think on ABC) until the bowl games. Don't recall who broadcast our games but the regular crew was Chris Schenkel, Keith Jackson, and Bud Wilkerson (I think).
All our home games were night games. They kicked off at 7:30 PM. Listened to most of them on radio with the Voice of the Tigers John Ferguson (amazing baritone voice). Walter Hill was the 'color commentator.' Sid Crocker did TS PA.
Finished regular season 9-2. First year to play eleven regular season games.
Lost to eventual national champs Nebraska in the Orange Bowl and were ranked #7 in the final AP poll.
It was also the last time we would beat Alabama until 1982.
Billy Graham did a crusade in TS the week after the Kentucky game (at least I think it was 1970).

My dad was in Oxford when they played Houston. He could bring himself to go to the game so he walked around the stadium ( bourbon flowing) he noticed a stretcher coming out with a trainer and one other person rolling to an ambulance. Realizing it was Archie he proceeded to tiger bait him among other things. Then saw him try to play with a broken arm the next week. He still loves to talk about that.

Don't mind being an "old" Tiger Fan. I've been following our Teams for 60 years now.On memories... how bout Pete dropping 50 on Kentucky in the Cow Palace.

The epic LSU game against Notre Dame at Notre Dame. I am aware that we lost the game, but the LSU defense was able to shut down the NCAA leading Irish under Joe Thiesman. I wish we could get a video of this entire game.

I played in TGBFTL in 86 and 87, but never had such accolades.
As for LSU sports in 1970, I think Pete Maravich is your go-to.

one thing that jumped at me in that game was that a few times LSU players could have hammered Archie into the ground..possibly ending his career, but instead they grabbed him and held him up.
...a lot of respect.
