“OU will not be ready for the RBs that are less effective. We’re gonna catch them off guard by one of our best players not playing”. Can somebody please burn this message board to the ground

lol after watching tape on those 3 guys, I highly doubt OU will lose much sleep. Not saying they wont be effective, but dont kid yourself. Nearly every impressive thing these RBs did this year were done when we were pretty much in control of the game. Not like a Jeremy Hill South Carolina situation

I guess Arkansas (2-10), Southeastern, Vandy (3-9), and New Mexico State would agree with you.

I’m not worried about the running game... I’m worried about his route running and blocking.

I think this is the concern for most of us. Clyde has been Joe's safety blanket all season. Clyde was one of the best pass catching backs in football. He has been money on check downs. Always knew where to be. And he was a willing blocker in pass pro.

The young backs should be able to run the ball. I mean, that's why they're at LSU in the first place. But they're not going to be able to pick up the nuances that made CEH such a perfect fit for this offense.

your talking about Arkansas who was already down 50-7 who then kicked a squib quick in which they got the ball at the 10 yard line, The Northwestern State team that scored in the first half only? The Vanderbilt team that had three turnovers, and two touchdowns from their defense?

Listen over 13 games each your Defense gives up more points.

Your offense scores less.

We’ve played better offenses and won
We’ve played better defenses and won

We’ve played teams with better offenses and defenses and won.

I'm in for the breakout party, time to let the freshman show what they have!

They also gave up 35 rushing yards to Baylor and 51 yards to West Virginia. Cherry-picked stats don't support anyone's position.

Here are some more cherry picker stats for you. West Virginia is 128 out of 130 teams in rush offense.

The two leading RBs at Baylor vs Oklahoma had a total of 6 carries. The first game vs them they had a total of 4 carries. The vast amount of carries Baylor had vs Oklahoma was their QBs running or getting sacked. Brewer ran 17 times out of their 23 carries the first game and Brewer and the backup QB ran 15 out of 29 total carries for 18 yards.

If they were ready for CEH, they are ready for David-Price, Emery, and Curry.

while those three are equal to ceh in pure rushing ability (maybe better with a higher ceiling), i don't think they're as good catching the ball which is a HUGE part of the offense. i can't say for sure because we haven't thrown to them much but, emery in particular missed a pretty easy pass and didn't look too good trying.

in the end, i'm not sure that one aspect of the offense is going to be enough to ensure an okla win. lsu just has too many weapons even if they aren't throwing to the rb

Yeah, just have to hope they are ready to grow up and pick up at least some of that slack

i agree. CEH is hard to defend, whether you are "prepared" for him or not.

Completely agree with you. I don’t think OU wins this game.

I just don’t think the fact that we gave up a bunch of rushing yards to Kansas State is indicative of how this game will go. Just like I don’t think the Ole Miss game will be reflective of the way LSU will play.

I think this will be a much better game than the majority of this board thinks.

Spare me the argument that LSU is now harder to prepare for without CEH.

Yeah it’s a huge blow.
If nothing else, CEH is very good at picking up rushers and protecting Burrow. That’s not even mentioning his catching ability out of the backfield. He can’t simply be replaced without losing something.
