They shouldn’t talk down against their opponent. Considering the last time they said the qb wasn’t a great passer then torched them for 300+ yards!

They don’t need it - but if you don’t understand why those quotes can change a teams mental focus - right now there is a decent chance they come out tight, anxious etc. now they’ll be coming out to prove a point. It’s a very different behavior to start a game and gives them an unnecessary edge.
Now we all believe it won’t matter. But what if LSU comes out tight. A motivated early lead by Ou and our playing tight lessens our chance at victory.
Some of you clearly don’t understand how emotions and focus (and what the focus is on) affect the beginnings of game.

I was nervous prior to the Florida game cuz we talked shite and we destroyed them.
I was nervous prior to Auburn cuz we talked shite and we beat the crap out of them in every measure other than the score which we squeaked out.
I was nervous before Bama and UGA for the same reasons and we won both in style.
This team can talk trash and back it up. I no longer worry about bulletin board material.
