Dumb
Dumb
Dumb

Heavener started out with too high of expectations and well, has not delivered low expectations.
Walk machine
And they just lost

Didn't lose yet, but not looking good. Someone will have to hit a HR. No way we get a few hits to win or even tie this game without a HR.

We just don't have the mindset to beat a team like Oklahoma. This was our chance to steal one.

We will probably be run ruled tomorrow and lose by about 4 runs on Sunday.

If we pitch like this against the other teams on our schedule we could make a run at .500, but that will be hard if we end up 3 - 9 after this weekend - which is almost certain to happen.

If you can’t see they are getting better then you just don’t want to see it, I could care less what they finish…they just took the likely natty favorite and probably the number 1 team come Monday to all they want. I assure you no one wants to see LSU in a regional if CC and JH continue to pitch like this. Only the 2nd team to hold them to zero hr..

Read the whole thread. I've said I see some improvement, especially with "CC", but Heavener wasn't that good tonight at all.

Do you think we will hold Oklahoma to no HR's again tomorrow or Sunday? This was our chance and we make a stupid defensive error in the rundown.

Again, if we play like this against the other teams on our schedule, we can make a little run, maybe even to host.

JH was fine, nerves at first but tough tough situation to put her in. Agree the lack of execution on the run down likely cost them the game..I really don’t think many understand the talent disparity, there isn’t 1 position player that would start at OU..none. To beat OU you gotta play perfect and they had a defensive lapse as you alluded to and it killed them. The other difference is big time players gotta play big and ours didn’t!

I wouldn’t say fine, more like a Nuke Laloosh night….1K,1BB, 1HBP but that’s what you can expect from her. Celura looked very good tonight, great control and ball placement. But, you can’t beat that caliber team with 6 hits and 2 of your players have 5 of them. It’s past time to bench Bergeron and let Lorenz catch. I’m still ok with Edward’s playing as it seems some teams still want to pitch carefully to her so she may have an extra on base or two.

I don't usually make critical posts either way, but I had to look and this is what I found...

The pitchers other than Heavener
142 IP
38 BB
11 HBP

Total 49 free runners
Average 0.28 freebies per inning

97K
Average 0.68 K per inning

Heavener
78.1 IP
48 BB
15 HBP
Total 63 free runners.
Average 0.8 freebies per inning

69K
Average 0.88 K per inning

The stats don't lie... if Heavener can lower the freebies by a lot, we can win a lot as she has the best talent on the pitching staff. I wasn't a fastpitch pitcher (my father was), so I would have difficulty fixing the issue, but with Beth being a pitcher, she's the most qualified to help her.

If she doesn't get better, I believe I would have a difficult time putting her in the game. But that's not my call and I leave it to the coaches to make it.

She gave up no hits and no runs, she is a up spin pitcher, not hard to hit a sac fly off her..if you wanted a ground ball should have left CC in.

That run in the 8th may have been charged to CC, but the walk and HBP sure didn't help....

Did we happen to wave at the OU players that we struck out tonight? Asking for a friend...

I understand they didn’t help but again JH has up spin to almost every pitch she throws, she is the pitcher you want in if you want a fly ball. I didn’t see any waiving 18, not that it didn’t happen but I didn’t see it. As far as not putting JH in SC scored 2 runs in 14 innings, I will take that the next 4 series every single day

That was the expectation going in so anything other than that is an upset!

Tigers hang on and end OU's 22 game win streak. First win over OU since 2015.
