Sharp breaking balls coming from sun into shade are tough to pick up for hitters and apparently umpire also.

I think the shadow is helping Gavin. Hitters are having a hard time picking up his curve/slider. He’s hung a couple that could have been punished, but I don’t they’re seeing it that well.

All of these teams have the scouting report but I still think it's startling to them how much he’ll throw that slider
