I could see Texas losing one more game to Texas Tech at the end of the year. Texas seems to always throw a game away if they do end up getting close to a NC a lot of the times.

Agreed. We need the Dawgs to beat the brakes off the Leprechauns, otherwise the media hype will start pumping them in

agreed. in fact, go ahead and reduce the spots to 3. aTm was Clemson's best chance for a loss.

Only room for one SEC team this year.
There was only room for one SEC team in 2011, too, but Bama and LSU played in the game.
And in 2007 there was no room for any two loss teams in a one game championship, but LSU won the natty with two losses.
All of these definite statements about what can, and will, happen are foolish.

The 3 SEC team talk will die no matter what, because it's stupid.

The Longhorn press guys all say that there is no chance at all Texas wins out.

LSU 13-0 SEC champs
UGA 12-1
Bama 11-1
Clemson 13-0
Texas 11-2 Big 12 champs
Notre Dame 11-1
Oklahoma 12-1
Oregon 12-1
Ohio State 11-2 Big 10 champs
Given this scenario there would be one SEC team in the playoffs - LSU. That is what the committee was created to do.

I thought that their job was to pick the best 4. In tgat case, it would be hard to leave out UGA and the gumps. I suppose we will agree to disagree on what the committee's role is then.

i dunno if anyone on here listened to PMT yesterday but they broke out of character when discussing LSU and were pumped that we finally had an offense. it was legit shocking to me b/c it seemed like these guys from teh north who aren't even big CFB guys all had emotional ties to LSU for some random arse reason

They went down to BR and interviewed Coach O for grit week last year, and they’ve been big Coach O guys since he took over. He was on one of their episodes last week to “preview” the Texas game.

quote:Only possibles are Oklahoma and maybe Notre Dame. The committee would be inclined to avoid a 3 SEC playoff so they would pick one, probably Oklahoma (eeerbody wants to see Hurts vs Tua, ratings would be high).
LSU 13-0 SEC champs UGA 12-1 Bama 11-1 Clemson 13-0 Texas 11-2 Big 12 champs Notre Dame 11-1 Oklahoma 12-1 Oregon 12-1 Ohio State 11-2 Big 10 champs Besides Clemson (obviously on the playoff), who else jumps the gumps and dawgs?
Who between Ga and Bama gets bumped out would depend on the scores of the LSU vs Ga/Bama and the Ga vs Notre Dame game.
If LSU vs Ga/Bama are both 3 or less point games, Ga destroys Notre Dame, and Okla looks bad in some games they shouldn't the 3 SEC playoff is possible though.

They also came down for the Bama game last year.

Imagine beating Alabama, at Alabama, and having to face them again in the Dome for the championship and losing, again.

How much fun would a OSU LSU playoff game be?!

Hell they did a song and included some Eaux lyrics. Has some bad language but is not a horrible song.
"Coach Eaux down in the bayou, Coach Eaux hold that Tiger!!!"

And it was who Eaux was talking to when he gave us this classic - Ed Orgeron Tigers GIF by Barstool Sports:

quote:Jimmy, you think that the Playoff Committee would choose three SEC teams (two with one loss), with the following available:
I thought that their job was to pick the best 4. In tgat case, it would be hard to leave out UGA and the gumps. I suppose we will agree to disagree on what the committee's role is then.
one-loss Oregon (that barely lost to Auburn in August)
one-loss Notre Dame (that presumably loses to UGA in Sept.)
one-loss Oklahoma (non Big XII champs)
undefeated Clemson
I think that given those options, indentically over 100 years they would MAYBE pick three SEC teams zero times or one time.
Particularly on a year when the "middle/lower" SEC competition is having an early outlook of being way down (Vandy, Missouri, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Tennessee)

I thought it settled precedent that the team who doesn't go to the SEC championship game gets an invite...
