So both Texas and LSU had tune up games against inferior competition! So you look at the stats as tune up stats, each team doing what they want and working on what they need to! So it is hard sometimes to make points out of the numbers except for one thing that absolutely jumps off the page!!

Texas’s faux DBU unit gave up 340 yds in the air to La Tech, You can bet Brady/Ensminger/Burreaux are going to be licking their chops after film studies!

I thought this would be a one sore game in the end because we are playing in Austin, but in all honesty, with those kinds of numbers that we put up passing and they put up defending the pass, this might be over by the end of the third! I think we win by more than 14 at this point!

This team is 2011 all over again but with a much more potent offense.

La Tech traditionally has a decent team with a good passing attack. I’m not sure that’s an indictment on Texas as much as you would like to believe. I’m not saying it’s not a benefit for LSU but you have to give La Tech more credit for that performance.

The Texas DL was unable to put any pressure on Tech's QB. The offense we watched LSU field on Saturday will light them the frick up.

Love the enthusiasm and share it as well. But LaTech is a high powered passing offense. How many yards did they get against LSU last season?

Not that it's really relevant but we thought our defense was pretty damn good last year. LA Tech threw for 330 against us.

That's inevitably what happens when the other team throws the ball 50 times.

I agree but I have to believe that if Tech can do that, we can too.

All I'm saying is be careful with the "Texas isn't that good on defense" talk. If you look at the final numbers, sure they gave up 340 yds through the air. However, if you look at the play by play, LTU had less than 250 total yds midway through the third qtr, and did not start moving the ball significantly until they were already down 38-0. They did not score until the 4th qtr. the majority of their yardage and all their points came in garbage time vs. the 2's and 3's. I think we match up well, but UT isn't just trash on defense. Todd Orlando is a good DC and he'll have a good plan.

Tons of Hype. Huge letdown.

Sitting in the stands watching Wisconsin players Lambeau Leap hurt.

I thought this was actually a pretty good performance from UT against LaTech. Tech historically hasnt produced alot of bad teams. They always get LSU's second pickings and it goes to show how stacked our state is in talent. They have always had solid offenses and was number 5 in the country last year in terms of defensive sacks. They will hang in there for a while against teams because they usually keep their players alot longer ie translating to experience. They always have a few players drafted in the NFL and that was noticeable on defense from how many players they lost last year.

You cannot compare last year's game against LSU to this season. LSU is much better. LSU didnt put alot of points on the board last season in general. If we had Chaisson for that game last season, they probably wouldnt have scored as many points on us.

Why do you keep bringing up our game vs tech last year?

We had no fricking pass rush last year and Tech also completed a couple of prayers that should’ve been broken up.

It’s a new year.
