Does Crews have a MLB comp?

I think He has an issue being a left handed infielder as far as what kind of value are people putting on defensive 1B vs putting a power hitter there where you can hide some of his defense.

That’s not fair to Morgan

Dylan Crews would go in the top 10 of the MLB Draft this year, should have been a first rounder a year ago.

Morgan is a great college player that perhaps with more power down the line can sneak into the first round his draft eligible season. But Crews has the ability to be a multiple MLB All-Star.

Crews will be 1st round draft pick and Morgan will be a middle round guy. Crews is one of our better players to make it to campus. No BS if you really any gm in MLB would pick Morgan over Crews you should be banned from posting anything to do with baseball.

I don’t know about MLB selection , but in college I’m taking Morgan without hesitation. He is by far the best clutch hitter on the team. If the game is on the line I want him at the plate.

Tre Doesn’t have the “5 tool” like crews does... but I just love his attitude and demeanor

You’d be an awful GM

I like that

I also think maybe an Evan White -- first basemen that are so athletic they could probably be plus defenders in center

But I get Belt with the bat. Not huge power, but takes their walks

If your a GM on a MLB team and you had to pick between these two, who you gonna take. It’s a tough call.

Are we talking about right now? It’s not a tough call at all. The answer is Crews and I love everything about Morgan’s game. You can both see how great Morgan is and understand that his current game does not translate to the current MLB game at his position. Now if he develops some consistent power in his time at LSU then this conversation is different, but Crews right now as a freshman is a no doubt future MLB corner outfielder.

Agreed he will be a top 5 round guy but Crews will probably be a top 5 pick.

I was thinking 7-8. Most MLB 1st baseman have alot pop and that's not his game. I can't think of 1st baseman with a game like his

Morgan adds more value with the way he plays 1B. He hits any pitch. He directs the ball to either side with ease.

Crews has adequate OF skills, top-notch power to both sides.

Crews gets the nod because his exit velocity shows that he is crushing the ball at double the rate of anyone. His bat is most likely to translate at the next level, despite his SEC BA slumping a bit right now.

There are some and they are mentioned in this thread but it does limit the pool of teams that would be interested in him as a 1B. I think he becomes an outfielder at the next level but I am perfectly fine with him playing first base at LSU for the next couple of seasons.
