we have, according to ESPN, the 2nd best center prospect in the country coming to LSU next year.
Do you guys remember what Bass did for LSU? So we don't have a point guard. We never had a point guard during Brady's tenure. His teams were built on defense and rebounding. We had some of the worst guards in SEC history, but many times, we won in spite of them.
Well guess what. We don't have a dominant rebounder or a shot blocker on this team. Guess what we have coming in next year...
We also add Justin Hamilton, and I know everyone is tempering their expectations because of Malcolm White, but Hamilton produced in the Big XII, and he was one of the top offensive rebounders in the conference.
Also, we have the best young guard prospect in my LSU lifetime in Ralston Turner. I was pre-Chris Jackson.
I can agree that we need a point guard, but dear lord, we're one of the youngest teams in the country, which is a direct result of the shitty APR Brady left us with and Louisiana not producing any top-flight talent since Greg Monroe.
I'm not sure how you can draw any conclusions based off of this season.

"wait 'til next year" ... but the problem is, next year never comes. I haven't had the opportunity to watch much LSU basketball this year, but what I saw today was not very promising.

Brady's 1st team was just as talent deprived as this one and they were actually smaller but they competed. This team hasn't competed well on multiple occasions so far this season.

I agree that the "next year" excuse should end. Just not this year. It should end after this season.
Next season, we should be competing for the SEC West crown, along with being a sure-fire NIT Team and a fringe NCAA tournament team.
Next season, Trent will have no reason, besides his own coaching and recruiting, not to succeed.

I stinkin hate that the NIT has become the new goal of LSU hoops. I mean I really despise that.

I agree with those very disappointed in T Johnson. It is no secret that in college basketball, one year's recruiting can result in a major turnaround. And if a year's recruiting does not bring at least an improvement, you got the wrong coach in charge. Well, this is two years in a row and no results. Time to admit a bad hire was made.

Niether play point, they both play the 2 at LSU or were forced to play 1 at times
