Brady's 1st team was just as talent deprived as this one and they were actually smaller but they competed. This team hasn't competed well on multiple occasions so far this season.

12-18 and 2-14 in the conference is not competitive, and the scores weren't very close for the most part LINK

Its not a bad hire, yet.. The guy is BUILDING a program...7th youngest team in the country.. injuries, including one to our best player. The guy got Nevada and Stanford to the Sweet 16.. Give him some time. If by 2013 LSU has not made it to the Dance then fire him. But I gaurantee you we will be in post season next year and in 2 years, we gonna be a damn strong basketball team.

You can have a crappy record and be competitive, keep in mind that team didn't have one player over 6'7''. That team lost to UK(Nat'l champs that year) by 2 we just lost to them by 40. Would this team come within 2 points of anybody in the top 25? There also weren't any Nicholls St. losses or at home out of conf. beatdowns like North Texas.

we lost to fresno by 35 and to Lamar. that season lsu also lost to ole miss by 22, to mississippi st by 37, to auburn by 22, again to ole miss by 26, to arkansas by 17, to scar by 17. yeah real competative. look, both teams are embarrassingly bad, but that brady team was not competative. that brady team also had maurice carter that was actually a really good player. you can't name one player on this year's team that can even be called good.

25 and Fresno was loaded that year they had Skip to my Lou among other players if not for their felonious ways they would have made noise.

Mo Carter was better than anybody on this year's team but as terrible as this team's inside players are they'd all start for that team. Rhodaria Caston was the big man at 6'7''. I haven't seen a smaller SEC since then.

Need to give Trent a few more years. Who expected what he did in his first year? Take the good with the bad

After all your proddings of Miles, I find it hilarious you are supporting Trent Johnson.

True polar opposites in terms of their image + production.

The two programs are in different stratospheres. Miles inherited an elite program. Trent Johnson inherited a program with a paper thin roster after the upperclassmen left his first year.

He also inherited a program on the verge of losing scholarships because of academic underachievement and players not graduating.

He also inherited a program in a state that normally produces a decent crop of basketball talent, but for some reason, the state has produced next to nothing for three consecutive recruiting classes.

This is my problem with everyone comparing the football and basketball programs. They are on two completely different levels. If you had followed the basketball program, and the overall shape of the basketball program under Brady, you would realize that what he left, along with lack of SEC caliber talent in Louisiana for several recruiting classes, would take several years to correct.

I agree with everyone about the next year excuse, but he should be given this year. By next year, he will have a roster filled almost exclusively with his own players, sans Green, and most of them will have had at least one year in his system.

IF we're playing like we are right now next year, it's time to begin seriously thinking about cutting ties with Trent. However, I don't think that is going to happen. If it does, I'll hop on the bandwagon and become an anti-Trent guy.

I just don't think it's fair to criticize his performance right now.

I was just about to post this. Not that I took him seriously anyway, but I take him even less so now. If that's possible.

did he?

4 losses
3 losses
5 losses
1 loss
3 losses

Looks to me like we had one great season, but the rest by Miles-haters' standards were "mediocre at best" and 4/5 of them included not just the "unacceptable 2 losses of elite programs", but THREE.

Saban is maybe the best program builder of the modern era and one of the best coaches of all time, but if you're honest with yourself, you'll admit that we've been more "elite" under Miles.

Brady scored with a bunch of homegrown talent, that team made it to the final four despite Brady. I have never hated a coach as much as I hated Brady.

Tyrus Thomas
Glen Davis
Darrell Mitchell
Tasmin Mitchell
Garrett Temple

He should have been punched in the face if that team didnt make the final four. Yet, Iona gave us a run for our money and we needed an incredible shot from DMitch to even beat A&M. GTFO with that Brady shite, he sucks arse and is at a shitty school in Arkansas whre he belongs

As "awful" as he was, he didn't get his arse kicked by North Texas, Nicholls State, or Coastal Carolina type teams.

TJ is Curley Hallman and Brady is Mike Archer.

If any of you wanted to know what it was like back then, you are getting a first hand example of the arguments.

Brady recruited nothing his last two years so after that herd of seniors departed we were stuck with Taz, walkons, and a few scholarship players.

We now brought ina top 25 recruiting class. We also have arguably the best high school center in the country coming in. This team will get better with more experience as Warren heals and Turner comes back. Next year will be a solid team, and the following year we will have a team that could give everyone in the tourney a run for their money
