I'm done arguing with everyone about the basketball team.

I will not make one single post about the basketball team for the remainder of this season.

I will make my first post about the basketball team next year. We will see who is right around Christmas time.

This is my bet:

Heading into SEC play next year, we're on the verge of being ranked in the top 25. We're widely considered either the best team in the SEC West or the 2nd best team in the SEC West behind MSU.

We will have beaten several tournament caliber teams.

Our starting lineup will consist of the following players:

PG: Stringer
SG: Turner
SF: Derenbecker
PF: O'Bryant
C: Hamilton

We MAY add a JUCO point guard who pushes Stringer out of the lineup and into the sixth man role.

we're one of the youngest teams in the country, which is a direct result of the shitty APR Brady left us with and Louisiana not producing any top-flight talent since Greg Monroe.

You lose all credibility when you use Brady as an excuse. Despite inheriting only five scholarship players, Brady had us in the final sixteen in his third season.

TJ inherited an SEC Championship team from Brady. It may be true that our APR was bad when TJ arrived but how does that compare to impending sanctions that Brady inherited?

TJ will have time to prove whether he is the coach or not. So get tough and get over it.

In addition no coach with Johnson's reputation was interested in the job when Brady was hired.

rady scored with a bunch of homegrown talent, that team made it to the final four despite Brady. I have never hated a coach as much as I hated Brady.

Tyrus Thomas
Glen Davis
Darrell Mitchell
Tasmin Mitchell
Garrett Temple

With you attitude toward Brady, I suspect you were one of the many who were proclaiming that signing TT and G Temple were wasted scholarships.

we have, according to ESPN, the 2nd best center prospect in the country coming to LSU next year.

He better be that good tuptiger and Hamilton and Isaac better be good and ready to play right away because we have waaaay to many kids on scholarship right now that really can't play at this level and I question by their progress to this point whether they ever will be.

I really like Turner and think Derenbecker has good upside offensively.

But the thing that concerns me is Trent insists on running an offense designed to start with running Stringer off high ball screens and the kid just ain't quick enough nor does he have the ball handling skills to execute out of that set.

As long as we run that offense and Stringer's the point we'll have trouble getting the ball to the folks who can score and that mitigates the effectiveness of the offense in general.

Man I want to think better times are coming but it's just getting harder to see the light.

The problem with this is that with the right athletes you can turn a basketball team around in a year. While were "building for the future Kentucky is producing championship teams with one and dones, and I am convinced louisiana has that kinda talent they are just going elsewhere are to dumb to get into LSU see joevaski mitchell 2 or 3 years ago

We can only hope that O'Bryant, Isaac and Hamilton are those kinds of athletes and that we can get a point that can play right away next year in the late signing period.

Because I've come to the opinion that Trent is an average bench coach/X and O guy at best. And if that's the case we are just going to have to get much better talent in here to compete. And we're a long way from that right now.
