You seriously are so pathetic. Can't even stay away from a thread you claimed you were leaving.
And what would you do differently? :inb4notletstudentssaybadwords:

So it's only a problem because it's on TV? What are you afraid of? Maybe I am naive. I didn't know that people based their opinions of Universities based on what drunk students say at sporting events.
Personally I'm not offended in the least....I'm ex-army....nothing offends my sensibilities....but you're basically saying that since the kids are drunk and all...and it is a sporting event ya know....its really to be expected....so lets not chastise them too much!
I'll tell ya what dude....if you really think there's nothing wrong with "STTDB"...the next time your at a family gathering...oh lets say Christmas dinner...why don't you stand up at the dinner table and in your best "Tiger fan" voice yell out "STTDB" and see how that works out for ya. I'm sure your loved ones would just chuckle and say oh well...immaturity and alcohol..its to be expected!!

There is some truth there, but would you yell that or say it in front of your parents? And maybe you would, I don't know...but I think a very large percentage of the ones that yell it would not. I think that's a reasonable test to see if it's a little over the line.
Would you say haha a-hole to your parents?

I just like the songs that are gone and I know the students do as well, so I think that's a good reason to just enjoy the songs. Besides, now we have other fan bases saying it back to us individually when they beat us now (like Ole Miss). Then it doesn't seem that fun (especially for those that don't yell it in the first place).
Part of college football. It isn't going away.

This is such a stupid proposition. Unless of course you think a college football game and a family party are the exact same social situations.

I dunno if this has been discussed in this abortion of a thread but what's the difference between the arse holes in tiger rag played by the band and the bitch I'm from Louisiana piped in?
Posted on 10/23/13 at 11:26 am to AverageJoe26
Both should be staples in Tiger Stadium. Please don't frick this up student section. Nothing is better than the whole stadium waving their hands up and down to Neck.

Yes, because they are azzholes. Kidding... I meant, would you yell that in general in front of them (not necessarily directed at them)? And yes, I would yell that in front of them - I would not yell the other.

i would, but my parents are the kind that snuck into the student section to sit with me whenever they came up for games. My dad actually says STTDB all the time in random conversations while watching football.

It is possible, though I don't have any inside information, that this decision to bring the songs back is a result of someone asking this exact question.

You do realize there isn't one single profane or obscene lyric in the version of this song that they pipe in right?

Here's the deal. The issue isn't whether students chant obscenities or profanities, whether individually or as a group.
The issue that led to the banning of all the songs is the impression that Tiger Band, an official spirit organization of Louisiana State University, is leading the chants. Neither Tiger Band, nor LSU, can allow that perception to exist for very long.
There is no way students will ever get this through their collective brain.
LSU fans are well known around the conference as very, how shall we say, spirited. Part of that is foul language, and many people accuse us of trashiness as a result. I know that doesn't apply to everyone, but there is some truth to it. The university cannot in any way be seen as advocating that type of behavior. The PR mess that would create is too damaging.
So, chant your chants, cheer your cheers. But don't be surprised when Tiger Band and the administration decide to not participate.

False. Only Oh-we-oh is back. It's being considered as a test run which if it passes the TAF's expectations then at that point some other songs may come off the blacklist.

Never said they were...but if you're saying that its to be expected... that equates to a tacit approval.....approval means its ok...then why be afraid to say it anywhere.
I think you also suggested leaving your kids at home....obviously you don't have any or you wouldn't feel that way.

Well, my parents aren't really the goody- goody type either, but I wouldn't yell that in front of them. However, based on what you told me, that makes your opinion understandable to me and I can respect that.

You don't have to, your question implies it.

This is retarded. There are times and places certain behavior is expected and/or accepted.I have no problem telling you to go frick yourself, but I wouldn't do that to a judge in a courtroom. I'm sure you're going to ignore the very obvious difference though.

My dad was an avid chanter of "ha ha ha ha haha haha ha a-hole! a-hole!" and "kick their arse!" He graduated in the class of '73
