Luckily Mizzou isn’t good at anything so we’ll let them stay for the schedule let up

With the signings of Zach Mathis and Saul Garza, as well as Wes Toups entering the transfer portal, the roster now stands at 39. The coaches expect to have somewhere between 35 and 40 players on the roster.

We picked up a juco transfer Catcher this evening. Jacob Wyeth from Cisco College in Texas committed to LSU. Roster is at 40 players.

Has Romo signed yet? I know Wyeth is more because of Garza

So what’s the story on this kid? Good defensive catcher? Depth guy? Potential star? What we got here?

What happens if someone in the portal doesn’t get picked up by another school?

Then he goes back to the school he was at, if they let him. If not, thry are SOL until they find a school

I don't know much about him yet. I'll look into him more today. He redshirted his freshman year at Baylor then spent 2 years at Cisco. He started off this past season hot, looking like his bat turned the corner. Hopefully that advanced bat is what we're getting.

For those interested and dont read the recruiting board, LE posted his stats at cisco college:
2019
144 AB 3HR 31 RBI 236/339/340
2020
30 AB 1HR 14 RBI 433/538/633
Lets hope we get 2020 Jacob
He followed lousiville, tcu, tulane, oklahoma st, etc on twitter. Maybe they were recruiting him also?

He only played 11 games and wasn't the full time starting catcher for his JUCO team. But that's because every game they played was a double header and they never had either catcher catch both games.

Makes sense, would hope they werent sitting a guy hitting .435
Would think maybe they’d start dh’ing him in the 2nd game

So, I've been tracking the South Florida Collegiate League to see how the LSU players there are doing. It's still early, but everyone is doing well.
One cool thing the league is doing since they have way more players than normal due to the cancellation of so many leagues is that they're batting 10 players each game instead of nine to make sure more guys get ABs. It also looks like they're trying to get as many games in as possible. I think Cranford and Doughty's team has already played 4 games.

Are you gonna post stats of all those guys or is there somewhere we can get that info? I know that would be alot of work on you

I lost my comprehensive stat spreadsheet when my last computer died. I still haven't started building another one. So I won't be aggregating anything. I'll probably just stick to doing one-off stat pages to find specific info that I'm interested in going forward.
LINK Here is a link to the SFCBL page on Pointstreak.
The relevant teams are Boca Raton Blazers, Boynton Beach Bucs, Florida Pokers, Phipps Park Barracudas, and Delray Beach Lightning. Milazzo is on the Bucs, he hasn't played yet, Kaminer is on the Lightning, he hasn't pitched yet. The other teams all have LSU players that have seen action.
ETA: Also, Driveline Baseball came up with a College WAR calculation and have created a searchable database: LINK

Travinski as backup to Millazo or is he better suited as DH/1b?
Posted on 6/17/20 at 12:58 am to rupert45
With the signing of Wyeth I would say he’s more in line for playing time at 1B/DH

Project thanks for doing this. I really miss some college baseball.

Gavin Dugas was added to the Boynton Beach roster in the SFCBL. He's listed as an outfielder, interestingly.

CJ Willis just announced that he's going to ULL. He had been in the portal for a while. I held out hope that he would stay, but yesterday Mainieri said in the Advocate they expected everyone in the portal to leave.
