I don't think Miles quit on the team, but something went on. As much as I have supported JJ all season, there had to be a reason as to why JL was not put in the game when we were down 15-0 and couldn't establish any type of offense (mid third quarter).
At that point, not only do you have to take a chance, but it was an opportunity to get the crowd back into the game. There would have to be a reason as to why Miles would quit, but there has to be a reason he refused to give Bama's D a different look.

Should have transferred last year. Gross misuse of talent

but it just seems its all come crashing down.
God almighty some of you need to go play in traffic or drink some bleach. I mean get a freaking grip.
PS - I like RS, but let's be honest, he was inconsistent (at best) at wideout, and the future is Odell Beckam.
PSS - Bama's back up QB is likely going to transfer, too. Thing's crashing down there too?

Russell Wilson didn't sit out a year, did he? What about Masoli, went he got the boot at Oregan and went to Ole Miss. Didn't he play the next year?

and then Miles will just bring up the plethora of players that are now in the NFL.
Am I missing someone other than LaFell?
Bowe and Doucet were Saban offsprings.
Toliver had the tools but he suffered from an anemic offense during most of his time at LSU.

There's no chance Shepard gets drafted unless he LIGHTS UP the combine.
He needs a year with a real QB.
He needs a year with a real QB.

Im not entirely convinced its football related to transfering or NFL. Its been rumored for some time that he has had cataract problems thus having difficulty catching the ball. He was supposedly going to have cataract surgery after the bowl game.
Its either something about a family member being ill or this eye surgery

if he is seriously contemplating the NFL then he hasn't been educated at all on what they look for in the NFL. 2 sweeps a year and 15 receptions is not NFL caliber.

Stupid?
Think we are going to suddenly "air it out" ???

I think he'll be back.
I do as well. I think right now players are letting their emotions get the best of them, like the fans.
By staying his last year, he would only increase his value. I hope he doesn't have an agent trying to establish himself, trying to convince him to go..

And you can get drafted in the later rounds of the draft with just talent

In my opinion, Miles's decided at this point that he was a beaten man and a beaten team. He decided to run clock in order to end the game ASAP. His hope was that Saban would realize that Miles had conceded the game and would also run clock. This would result in a lower final score for Bama.
Miles can't adjust to new football situations and problems on his feet. Once his initial plan fails, he gets brain-lock and concedes.
That's my theory, anyway.
He's a good coach, though. He has done MUCH better than I ever expected of him.

He believes that his combine measurables will be sufficient for an NFL team to take a chance on him in the middle rounds.

I can only assume we will be passing more next year unless they plan on letting Mett run the option.
