I have no problem with piped in music some. I just wish if they are gonna play it they'd research some diff songs and not keep playing rap music that was cool when I was in jr high. (I'm 32)

I remember thinking at the last saints game I was at that they seemed to have a pretty awesome DJ that was on time with the music and played stuff that fired the crowd up.

So you get fired up when they play Offsprings Keep em Separated ??

Rather than something off "Stadium Songs Greatest Hits Volume 1"? Yep. Sure do.

It's not like LSU got a DJ who knows how to play something that fires up the crowd. They hired a wedding party DJ who is also into shitty Louisiana rap.

Tiger Stadium's greatest and loudest/most enthusiastic crowds did just fine with only the band. It was something that wasn't broken and they tried to fix it.

As long as the players like it, there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s their game.

if a player needs a song to get fired up for a big play, we have a big problem.

The music is for the paying customers, not the players.

The music (and the entire event) is there for the students to enjoy while they are not in class. Paying customers are welcome to join and enjoy as guests if there’s enough room for them.

Common misconception. There is no fine. It's just a choice by the director not to play it because of the student section.

If it were up to me, the constant adds by the stadium announcer is just as bad. I gave up my season tickets in the SEZ because the guy WOULDN'T SHUT UP between plays and or timeouts. Constant advertisements. SHUT UP and let the band play. Dang whippersnappers ruin everything. Here's to hoping the stadium announcer retires Saturday morning. WE ALL GOT EYES, DON'T NEED CONSTANT YAPPING !

Great football players don't need any fricking PIM to get them motivated. It's built in internally. They need to be concentrating on their assignments and football, not freaking music!

Not really. The music playing tends to make people stop yelling. If I'm yelling and all I hear is music, then I think, what's the point? Watched it happen time and again during the tech game.

The atmosphere should intimidating for opponents like gladiators at the Colosseum, not like Bella Noche.

With music over the speakers this can take the crowd out of it to a certain extent.

To a huge extent. When there is music blasting, fans can't out yell it...so the tendency is to stop yelling. then, the music drops out as the team approaches the LOS and the stadium suddenly has to get to full throat which it often times can't do that fast.

Seriously...Tiger Stadium knows when to GET LOUD without the prompting of some DJ. We've done it for decades...we can still do it, if allowed to.

This sounds like a wonderful marketing campaign for season tickets next year...

This! Fans can't yell or cheer because the music is blasting. One thing I do love this year is how the band keeps beating their drums while the opponent is getting set on offense.
