I always thought he would be. He'll be one of the main relievers next year and I think he wants to get his degree.

You never know, all depends on where his mindset is and what money would it take for him to forgo his final year.

My opinion is if you can get a significant chunk your junior year you take it. Say $100k. As a senior he'd be smitten to get 10% of that. Can always come back to school for final year and have MLB team pay for it.

Todd Peterson and to a lesser degree, Garza are the only question marks to go pro on our current team is what I’ve gathered.

If we could get the Nuker back that would be huge, but I’m not holding my breath.

Hampton was just drafted. Round 23. Still safe?

Had the Mets drafted him it would have been a concern. If they whiff on signing Allan they'd all of sudden have money to spend. Think it's pretty safe situation with the Padres.

Florida. Mets drafting as backup plan if Allan doesn't sign, maybe?

False. Any player chosen in the top 10 rounds that money is either used on the player or you lose all of it.

So Barco is likely making it to campus?

Yeah, but what they would lose by not signing Allen would be more than offset by what they would save from all the seniors. So they still would have a bunch to throw around if they lose him.

I guess if you put it that way then yes they could. It would be one or the other.

They're going to have to spend at least 2.5 to 2.75 million to sign Allan.

Garza just got picked in the 32nd round, 949 overall pick by the KC Royals. Doubt he will sign, but they did pick him.

Garza just got drafted by the Royals in round 32

ETA: Shortly before that, known cocksucker Feliepe Franks got drafted by the Red Sox.
