Not to mention how impossible this is for college coaches. They have to get commitments 3 or 4 years before the kid comes to college and somehow try and predict how many of those and current players will leave for the draft 3 or 4 years later.

I personally prefer not to do it

Like with Moffitt. It may have been a one year deal from the getgo. Potentially the same with Doughty, and I only say that about Doughty because he's the only other one we know is a walk on.
TBH, I was a little surprised that Reese was back this year. He didn't throw much as a freshman and was really bad in the Northwoods league.
Nowak and Petersen threw a combined like 10 innings. If they were getting any scholarship this past season, it's going to be re-appropriated to someone that will contribute.

I would love to sit down with a coach and talk about their strategy for handling the scholarship limits. I have second hand information on how some coaches do it, and it absolutely fascinates me.
I don't envy that aspect of the job.

If one of the freshman pitchers can step up we could get our Wild Thing closer back!

I should rephrase. I don't like that I do it.

An argument could have been made both ways at the time. Not saying a case couldn't be made for Reid. However, now that the dust has settled, you were wrong.
So, don't throw stones from your glass house, especially on an obvious mistake and spelling error.
Your coming across as really gay right now.

DiGiacomo was interviewed on Twitter to announce his plans to enroll at LSU and forgo his offer from the Pirates.

It really is a crock of shite that it has to be done. Not to mention the unfair advantage it gives to private schools and schools with the advantage of things like TOPS.

Coming from a well known shitty baseball poster, I'll take that as a compliment.

I would be interested to know if they think TOPS and similar programs are still a big advantage. On the surface it seems like the new minimum % requirements would nullify it to a large extent, but I’m sure it’s still better to have the option than not.

I agree with you. He has good stuff, but if you can’t locate it, it doesn’t do you any good.

Well yeah. I would think a MLB team would find it easier to get his control issues fixed though. Only so much you can do to make a pitchers stuff get better, on the level Cams is. If he was throwing strikes all season he is a weekend starter without a doubt, and probably the best pitcher on staff.
I'm guessing he came to LSU for Dunn to try fix that. He showed signs of getting it together at the end of the season. Now he will try to do it consistently in the minors.

Some news: Elijah Cabell won't be coming to LSU regardless of what happens with the Brewers. LSU released him from his NLI.

Per Paul Mainieri:
Levi Kelly will sign professionally. #LSU is releasing Elijah Cabell from his NLI. Brice Turang "really wants to come to LSU" but status is a little unclear. Brewers' bonus pool is $6 million. Might be too little for Turang's asking price.

Mainieri said Landon Marceaux and Cole Henry each turned down a signing bonus in excess of $1 million.

I like Mainieri a little less for screwing with my heart regarding Turang.
