Official LSU vs. Ole Miss Prediction Thread

Remain calm, Lane told us about the offense in fall camp. I know not everyone is an avid interview listener with coaches because “blah blah” coach speak but lane speaks pretty honestly and it has come to fruition in the first two games. Lane in 3 separate interviews hinted at “we need to make more plays for Sam”. That was a direct quote from fall camp. Also hinted at “Sam doing everything” almost like playing hero ball which we have kind of seen.
Was asked what kind of team this will be and he point blank said this is a defensive team. Everything he has pointed to is what has happened. The offense “struggling” isn’t a surprise even though they have had over 500 yards in both games.
Seems like it’s going to take time to gel. And LA Tech defense was perfect for us to see because not only are they physical but they are very good at causing turnovers. They were 2nd in all of the country at doing that. They have been a very good defensive team for the last 3 years.
Now how does this lead into Ole Miss? Well just scan through some tape/highlights and everything their message boards are saying and the weaknesses are their secondary and defensive line play. Charlotte top two rushers avged 8.3 yards and 6.6 yards per rush respectively.
All in all this sets up perfectly for Lane to scheme some great things to open up against a weak secondary, and a getable DL. Lane is one of the best in the business when it comes to scheming and finding your weaknesses and he already has a chip on his shoulder being in Oxford. I suspect they have been eying Ole Miss and maybe even prepping for them for awhile considering how easy everyone in the building felt they would dismantle Clemson. Remain calm,
Prediction:
LSU 33, Ole Miss 24

Ole Miss isn’t scoring 24 on this defense. If the offense gives up 14 to their defense they might get to 24 but I see 10-14 is all our defense will give up.

He also said this La Tech game would not go as people would think.
I feel confident with Kiffin.

While I’d love for you to be right, I just think Chambliss is so good and will get us on some plays. If there’s one thing Blake’s defenses have struggled with it is athletic mobile QBs. That’s why I say 24

LSU 34
Ole Miss 24
Take care of the ball. Throw it away or take a sack. Take care of the ball and ball won’t lie. Field goals are OK with an elite D.
