Brent Venables.

His defensive game plan Monday night was so good it would've worked on anyone not named Joe Burrow.

The problem though was he was playing Joe Burrow who was the Secretariat of College QBs.

Venables is a stud of a DC.

At least make him say no and make Clemson pay more to keep him.

This is the guy I would choose if Dave Aranda leave.

MARCUS FREEMAN,
Defensive Coordinator / Linebackers

Freeman started his coaching career as a graduate assistant coach at his alma mater, Ohio State, in 2010. The Buckeyes went 12-1 with a victory in the Sugar Bowl.

A four-year letter winner for the Buckeyes from 2004 to 2008, Freeman played for UC Head Coach Luke Fickell and earned second-team All-Big Ten honors in 2008 while helping lead Ohio State to four conference titles, three BCS bowls and two trips to the national title game during his career.

PLAYING CAREER
2004-08: Ohio State (Linebacker)
2009: Chicago Bears (Linebacker); Buffalo Bills (Linebacker); Houston Texans (Linebacker)

COACHING CAREER
YEAR: SCHOOL - POSITION
2010: Ohio State - Graduate Assistant
2011-12: Kent State - Linebackers
2013-15: Purdue - Linebackers
2016: Purdue - Co-Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers
2017-: Cincinnati - Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers

OR

Richard was the Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator for the previous three seasons after spending five seasons coaching defensive backs.

I’d be surprised if he’d even entertain the idea to get more money. He’s been by Dabos side for 8 years, imagine there’s some pretty strong loyalty there

This is reverse order.

Grantham makes $1.8? Make Florida out bid you.

If this were true, he’d already have a head coaching gig.

This one makes sense to me. Young guy. Lot to prove. Ties to Pete Carroll.

Now, does he want to go to College.

I have no clue how Richard would do in college but his DB’s in Dallas were atrocious. I would not want him coaching LSU’s defense based solely off of the results for the Cowboys.

I don't want an NFL guy. I want a successful college DC.

I worry about NFL coaches and recruiting as well as adapting to facing college offenses. Success in the NFL doesn't always translate to college.
