I would like for someone who is reasonably knowledgeable on defense and knowledgeable of DCs, to breakdown the top 5 realistic candidates, pros & cons. I think would be interesting read and to compare with Os actual choice.

Leaving it to O. He brought in Jim Gregg (Joe Moore award), kept Aranda, kept Ensminger and brought in Joe Brady. O will make the right choice for DC

I’ve been saying it...I think Reeves is a future superstar who is still a little under the radar. His defenses at UAB have been setting some records.

I am with that.

He had the #3 3rd down D and the #8 total D.

Whoever Pete Carroll suggests.

No to Fisher and Strong.

I would throw big bucks at the Iowa State DC

Yup and his defenses are agressive and attack. I like being the attacker rather than the attackee.

Leonhard hit a bomb off me in in HS, ha. Summer of 99, legion regional in Menomonie, WI. That's my Jim Leonhard story. He is like Paul Bunyan legendary in WI.

Considering how well he did against LSU and the fact many schools will mirror LSU’s offense now, he did not impress me imo.

He is one of the brightest defensive minds in college football, IMO.

The man couldn’t scheme his way out of a paper bag when he was here, so I don’t know about this. He’s a good fit at Auburn and has certainly had better results there than here. He wasn’t a good fit at all here the first time, so I don’t know why he or we would go down that road again.

MacIntyre should definitely be a candidate. He improved the Ole Miss defense a good deal in one year. (Don’t hold the LSU game this year against him )

He definitely did, especially considering their talent level across the defense was suspect in spots. I would hate it for Memphis, because he was a home run hire for them. He would be down the list for LSU.
