What about Mike McIntyre? I think he's moved over to Memphis.

MacIntyre should definitely be a candidate. He improved the Ole Miss defense a good deal in one year. (Don’t hold the LSU game this year against him )

Spend more money on Aranda

Ain't no way to out-spend Baylor. Plus, it's a head coaching gig.
Cant fault Aranda...good for him and I wish him success.

Grantham makes $1.8? Make Florida out bid you.

I think the offer you would have to make for even Grantham to consider is going to be what Aranda made, you really think he is worth that considering Florida might not match, I think they will and like your way of thinking we should do the same for Elko, so you might own him and I don’t know if he is the best DC in the business. Although he is awful good!

I mean, he’s a disaster as a HC, but the guy was a highly regarded DC. I don’t get the resistance.

I would still go hard at the guys, save Venables.

Force them to at least double their salaries.

What’s the point of making some school double their salaries? It’s not like there is a salary cap.

Quit this ridiculous bullshite. Why the hell would he leave Clemson? Because we won the Natty? Doubt that holds any attraction for him given Clemson’s recent history. He makes plenty, he’s got a lot of talent coming back and a likely trip back to the playoffs next season, assuming Clemson’s schedule is full of those ACC and OOC powerhouses they typically face. Everyone knows Venables would be a great DC. Now move the frick on and be realistic.

So this list is a good start. Everyone makes many valid points on here. IMO, I don’t think you can judge any DC against this years’ Tiger offense.
Now as smart as we all are on this board, the #1 criteria for me is how well would any of those DC’s gel and mesh with current staff. Remember OneTeam OneHeartbeat also means OneStaff... some top candidates might not have cohesion with this Staff.
And that will be determined by CEO, the last thing he will do is bring in a bad apple... everybody remember the so-called great hire of Matt Canada...

Cherry is better suited to be a 4-3 end, but I don’t know who else on our current roster.

Strong, Pelini or Cosgrove would ruin LSU. All 3 are cancer to a team.

I'd be down with Busch, Raymond, or JEff Fisher. It would be nice to get Grantham away from Mullens

Make you opponents spend more of their budget on one guy this limiting spending on other areas. Sorta like a nuclear arms race.

Choice 1:
David Reeves Another Young Coach ... keep our trend up
Choice 2:
Kris Richard

Young and hungry coaches work harder than recycled ones. - like Reeves
No more recycled coaches as John Chavis.

No Chizik ... excellent commentator not so much as a coach.
He rode Cam like Jimbo rode Jameis.

If he decided to get into coaching again (dumb IMHO), he would leave us next year.

I’ve been saying it...I think Reeves is a future superstar who is still a little under the radar. His defenses at UAB have been setting some records.
