I am in south end zone and having the speakers in the north side is freaking awesome. My bleeding eardrums from the last 5 years are finally healing. Good luck with getting them to turn it down.

The piped in music was ridiculous. I had a migraine after I left the stadium. The bass was way too high. I wasn't in the student line, but it was backed up ridiculously far.

Here's the deal with the sound: Dan was too quiet at first, they need to turn him up.
The piped in music was wayyyyyy to loud a couple of times to the point it hurt your ears and you couldn't talk to the person next to you.
The canned GBFTL music was very tinny and just sounded shitty.
And of course, too much canned music. We all love the band, let them play as much as possible.

1. To much piped in music and way to loud.
2. Not enough game stats shown
3. No individual player stats
4. Ads, ads, ads, and more ads. The long scoreboards, or whatever they are called, under the upper decks are a waste. They show ads 95% of the time. The jumbotron is 2/3 ads.
5. Replays continue to be shown from field level.
6. Not enough other scores shown.
7. Phone service stinks.

Biggest complaint...wireless signal...or lack of signal. Curious to know he percentage of AT&T users in the stands vs Verizon. Weak/limited signal with too many users will cause the problem.
With only one set of speakers for the stadium until next year, the volume is going to have to be loud in the north for the fans in the south to hear it.
As another poster mentioned, the players are kids, in school and busting their tails to workout, practice and play to entertain us. Yes, there and benefits to them but to show my appreciation and respect, I stay till the end.

What kind of music were they playing? Any specific songs you guys remember?
Whoop there it is
We will rock you
Lots of awful rap that was too loud. Reminded me of a Hornets game but with more obscure rap.
Some old rock n roll, like 40+ years old and overplayed (every sporting event in America).
The speakers sound awful for music and the song selection was really bad.
Meanwhile the band hardly played.

I actually preferred the more classic songs they played such as "we will rock you" and "Ozzie Osborne"
I agree but, The music is played to get the players and recruits hyped. I highly doubt players and recruits get hyped off the classics.
Also like a lot of other people said. It's just to much piped in music. The band almost never played.

No alcohol. That is all.
Oh, and the screen is tiny.

My big complaint with the piped in music last night was that it played OVER the GBFTL when they made the tunnel for the players to run through, when the band plays. I like the band Pre-Game show. It's a great tradition and I think the piped in music could wait until after the band is finished playing. It looks silly to see the band playing and hearing the speakers drown them out with some other hype song. Maybe it was just first-game coordination problems but I hope it doesn't continue that way.

My iPhone is on AT&T and if course I had no reception. I also have a Verizon mifi which I bring to the games and hop on it with the iPhone. On AT&T I couldn't even send a text. On Verizon I could watch YouTube videos

I don't know what game you were at…we played during almost every timeout last night.
Maybe because you're young, but the band used to play a whole bunch more. Recent piped in music started bama 2008 with hells bells. Since then the band has played less and less and the music selection has gotten worse.
I'm not a band nerd so I can't critique the flutes or whatever group but the band also played the alma mater like shite to start the game.
AND PLEASE STOP PLAYING STAND UP AND GET CRUNK.

Borne' inaudible in section 305 but the bass on the crap music was great.
I think mostly it was just Borne' and the refs. When they'd play highlights, you could hear just fine. Dan and the refs need to turn up their mics.
I agree with the HD screen. Why not give Cox and Coke a banner on the side of the screen with back-lighting and use the jumbotron for replays?

I personally loved the sound system. That shite sounded amazing...but I'm a sound geek. I thought the acoustics were simply outstanding compared to what we have had in the past. The only thing I would change is turn the music down a bit and turn the announcer up.
It's a football game. You go to watch football. IDGAF if they pipe in music as long as it sounds good. I would much rather them play the real song over the speakers than the band try to play "current" music. That's just my opinion though.

I also enjoyed the speakers. Thought they sounded great.

Fwiw elleshoe can answer all of your gbftl questions.
Seems most here have same 2-3 complaints, which tells me they are legitimate.

Security was really checking hard for contraband. Good thing my ninja like skills allowed me to slip liquor in undetected.
Having to navigate around the construction was a pain, but understandable.
The twats leaving at halftime is always annoying. The student section was especially disappointing.

Did anyone catch the use of the "N" word in one of the piped in rap songs? I thought i was wrong but the guy next to me said he heard the same thing.

Agreed. When the game started and the stadium was full and quiet during the alma mater and Star Spangled Banner, you couldn't hear Borne'. It wasn't until the 3rd quarter as the stadium was quiet AND empty, that you could hear the announcers. However on a video clip that Borne' narrated, you could hear it clearly.
There was one rap song that started with absolute PIERCING and inaudible highs. However the bass of the rap songs was pretty awesome.
From my seat, not enough mids for audible speech, but the highs and lows were good. Probably directivity, and not likely to change this season. I sure hope they'll have our south end speakers again next year.
BTW: Section 305, SE on the 15.
