Roman numeral M is 1000, so a single "M" has often been used to indicate thousand, with "MM" indicating million. Since Roman numerals only go to 1000, I guess the logic is to read it out as thousand thousand, which would be million.

Turang playing for LSU next year.

That is something we all hope for. I don't know any individual that would turn down $3.5 million to $4 million without the absolute necessity for success.

This is my first post in this thread, and I've been hoping he's coming to LSU.

The petty fighting between adults about a kid who just graduated high school, who is presented with life changing money, is pretty damned ridiculous.

I agree, but such is the nature of this board since about 1/9/12.

Turang is different than your typical high school draftee. His family is independently wealthy and value education. It’s what created their wealth. We shall see. I remain optimistic.

Some people use M for millions, while others use MM. it is simply how you say thousands- thousands.

M for million sure seems simpler though

My question is this:

How much is the tax that they would have to pay to go above 3.6MM?

Is it a forgone conclusion that they would be willing to pay it to get him to 4MM?

I Don't know a whole lot about the slot values and the rules for them

A team that outspends its pool by 0-5 percent pays a 75 percent tax on the overage. At higher thresholds, clubs lose future picks: a first-rounder and a 75 percent tax for surpassing their pool by more than 5 and up to 10 percent; a first- and a second-rounder and a 100 percent tax for more than 10 and up to 15 percent; and two first-rounders and a 100 percent tax for more than 15 percent.

In six years with these rules, teams have outspent their allotments a total of 95 times, but never by more than 5 percent. Twenty-one of the 30 clubs exceeded their pools last year.

Ok so most team's have no issue with paying that 75% tax.

If I read correctly, the brewers are one of 3 teams that have never over spent their bonus. I can't imagine them drafting the way they did this year without intending to do so though.

He should and probably will go pro, but he’s an instant super star if he comes to LSU

If he turns down $4 million to come to LSU, he loves LSU more than anyone on this board

You’re the worse poster on here. You think you’re smart and some sort of fan, but the reality is you’re just a kid. I have to remember that when I read your posts. Get a life.

Some of us had cancer and can barely see, yet douches like you know what is being meant by what is typed and make shitty posts.

Grow up child.
