Good, I'm glad that the voters are aware of their power to change the rematch despite ESPN's propaganda that it is already decided

Oh, I have no doubt that some will do it. I just don't think enough. Matt will have to come in here and break it down, I just think it will be too many to count on. But I'd be fine with being completely wrong.

Do you honestly think that an 11-1 Alabama who didn't even win their division deserves to be ranked higher than an 11-1 Okie St. that will have won their BCS conference OUTRIGHT (the highest ranked BCS conference, I should add) AND has a tougher schedule and a higher computer ranking than Alabama?

You honestly think that looking at the two resumes of those teams that Alabama still deserves to be #2?

I think Alabama is a better team, would have gone 12-0 and won the Big 12 as well if they played OSU's schedule, and I would absolutely rank them #2.

I'm interested to see what the coaches do. If I'm Mike Gundy, I put OSU at 2, maybe even at 1, and drop Bama way the frick down. I'd imagine other Big12 coaches will follow suit. Anyone have a list of the coaches voting this year?

One of the big keys is to ensure that virtually no voters put Va Tech and Stanford above Ok State. That probably means Va Tech has to lose and Ok State has to win by so much that Stanford is obviously inferior.

If every voter put OSU at least #3 in their final ballot, they would only need 25% of voters to put them over Bama - that at least seems doable. If Stanford gets a handful of voters it goes up to 1/3 and if Va Tech wins it is 50% or more (that seems very, very unlikely)

So we need okie state to at least get all of the # 3 votes? Kiss that goodbye. It will be bama.

I see a real possibility of Oregon being ahead of Stanford in the final poll after they win the Pac-12 Championship Game. They won the matchup Head 2 Head and won the conference. We all know the voters re-evaluate the body of work for the last poll. Add to the fact that their only out of conference loss will be to the unanimous number 1 team the first weekend of the season.

I also don't think it is a reach for some voters to put Oklahoma State and Virginia Tech, if both were to win their conferences, both ahead of Alabama.

Meh, Virginia Tech has to lose. We know that.

The important thing is that almost 10% of voters don't have Bama #2 - at least groundwork for the necessary 25-35%.

Bama has 1411 out of a possible 1416 second place votes, so either 5 of the 59 voters dropped them to #3 or one or two voters dropped them to #4

Right. So close to 10% keeping them out of the #2 slot.

Right.

Today, Bama is 64 points behind LSU, so presumably 5 voters do not have Alabama at #2. Also, while OSU is #5, they are only 46 points away from being #3. Could be a close race.

Coaches Poll Out.

I understand voters not being able to get past OSU losing to a 3 TD favorite. But shite, VT ACTUALLY DID lose by 3 TDs. Hardly seems right.

1. LSU
2. Alabama
3. Virginia Tech
4. Stanford
5. Oklahoma State
6. Houston
7. Oregon
8. Boise State
9. Michigan State
10. Arkansas

What you're not taking into account, is that the last vote is not about who is the better team.

It's about who they want to see in the BCSNCG.

Alabama is undoubtedly the second best team.
