I, for one, am shocked.

BATON ROUGE- Baton Rouge Police recently completed an investigation into allegations made by LSU Football Player Koy Moore and have cleared the officers to return to patrolling the streets of Baton Rouge, WBRZ learned Tuesday (12/15).

But, Baton Rouge Police said the case technically remains open and have refused to release body camera footage related to the incident. Last week, those officers returned back to work full time when the investigation wrapped up but were on a light-duty assignment which kept them off the streets while the investigation continued, which recently occurred.

The officers were placed on administrative leave immediately after the incident with Moore.

Baton Rouge Police said the case is still considered open because the officers are awaiting a disciplinary hearing.

A department spokesperson said its customary in certain cases to allow officers to return to regular duty after being cleared through an internal investigation but while awaiting a formal hearing.

Last month, the Baton Rouge Police Union said it was confident body camera video would exonerate the officers.

"The video has been viewed by multiple attorneys, including our own. We believe it will vindicate the officers who are currently on leave," the union said.

How is it still considered open while they wait on disciplinary action, but they have been cleared to return to the streets? Sounds like somebody doesn’t want the body cameras leaked. Most likely someone from LSU.

The body cameras being made public will serve absolutely nobody any good. Have you seen some of the crap people have rationalized? Having the evidence will sway very few people from their original stance on it, either way.

Probably not. They would be fired.

Its likely that the officers did nothing and this doesn't reflect highly on others.

Or the real answer is it wasn't negative against the police and Broome couldn't make a big deal out of it before re-election so it was all hush hush. The Police Union wanted it to come out, but the Chief has held it due to "further investigation". Remember, he is in Broome's pocket.

For as long as football has been popular in college towns, the local police have been sweeping transgressions involving football players under the rug. For example, Billy Cannon was FAR from a saint and for decades football players have being doing stupid shite. Many time the HC would get a call about it before anyone else to "fix the issue" before the DA/media had to get involved.

Now, are police (not just BRPD) going to be more inclined to expose the transgressions of college players whereas before they may have kept it under wraps? College kids are ALWAYS going to do dumb things. I did. You did. We all did. College football players with ego, great size, local celebrity status do more. Not having the police on your side could lead to unintended consequences.

I'm not saying the cops were right for giving football players leeway none of us would get. Just that those things have been happening for a long time

Maybe not, but I guarantee it has racist police officers just like the LSU fan base has racist "fans", if you know what I mean. In honor of the game against Florida, if the shoe fits wear it.

Absolutely, on both sides of the fence. I have been called a racist just last week because I said that Max Johnson should get the start to see how he could do. I wanted a chance to see him play against a college team that wasn't at the end of the game. But I wanted to see the white quarterback so it made me a racist.

You don't think BRPD has any racist officers? You don't think the LSU fanbase has any racist fans?
