Offensive Line & 2020

If the buzz around Ingram is true, the significance of his return would be difficult to overstate. I know this isn’t the recruiting board, but just for schlitz... let’s talk OL depth next year.
LSU has a good shot at Dumervil (T) — and they really need to lock him up... He is the only LSU-leaning OL prospect I know of rated >3*.
Kardell (G) will rehab and come back as a RS freshman, I have a feeling Hines will be very good as a Jr, and if Ingram returns he could possibly play two full years after this one.
Rosenthal will be good, and Deculus should return. If they retain either Charles or Cushenberry that would be a huge boon, but that’s an “if”.
It would be nice if they landed a 5* inside guy just for depth. I imagine this will be a huge emphasis for 2021.
As far as big remaining targets... Marcus Henderson doesn’t seem to be out of the question, but he’s being recruited by everyone & their mom. And I‘d love to know what Arkansas is pitching Ty’kieast Crawford lol.
Thoughts?

Zero chance either come back

Yea I’d figure as much. Just mentioned because it’s technically possible lol.

Unless you are an elite OC you typically don't go very high and Charles isn't going to rate that high. They may leave, but coming back next year when the run game picks up with an experienced Emery and TDP may improve their stock.

Sometimes kids need to move on even if they have to go the FA route. Think about the last 2 years with Charles. Dude has been suspended for multiple games each year.

That could go either way — maybe a full year of play & staying outta trouble would improve his stock significantly

So next year would be..
D. Rosenthal or S. Charles
K. Thomas
C. Hines
E. Ingram
A. Deculus
Correct? Is Hines to center a long term thing? Seems like it would be a solid unit on paper, assuming we can replace backfill Cush’s spot effectively and K.T. rebounds from his injury.
Ingram definitely makes a huge difference for 2020. I’m also assuming there’s no way he leaves after this year.. that would suck.

If the relevant assumptions hold, I’d imagine that’s your starting 5 — the only concern would be depth & maybe (re)development of Ingram + Thomas
If they get lucky & Charles returns AND they snag Dumervil... man that’d be nice. You’d almost get a reprieve with this class + just look to really hit that unit hard for 2021.

Rosenthal and Wire for 2020 tackles, please. Get those boys experience, cause they are BY FAR the kind of OT's needed to excel in the SEC.

There are others that could be good on the roster as depth. Bradford was a highly rated OT/G, Thomas Perry has a very good lineage and hopefully Parker decides he's best suited at OT and makes the switch.

Everybody is so high on Rosenthal. He has not looked good this season. Very raw still Badore is currently backup LT.

True. Just in comparison to the competition, we have relatively low # of OL both on roster and in this class.
UGA has a really sneaky 2020 class. Not that many skill players, so they’re not ranked in anyone’s overall top 10 — but they might have like 4 top 25 OL right now lol.

Ridiculous to talk about Charles or Cush leaving. They should stay. Neither will be projected to go early

Personally, I agree — but you never know with upperclassmen at highly ranked programs in this age.
CEO seems to be doing pretty well with player retention, but nothing would surprise me

Cush will be 1st team All-SEC and his stock won’t get any higher.
He’ll graduate this year also. He’s gone.

Rosenthal started at LT vs northwestern

I would think Hines will take over at center if Cush leaves. Thomas at one guard, Ingram at the other if he returns, since he'll be draft eligible after ths year. I have believe he will come back.
Charles or Rosenthal at one tackle, Deculus at the other. Wire, Bradford, Perry as depth, along with who they sign this year. Could be a better OL than this year's.

I wouldn’t be at all shocked if both Charles and Cushenberry come back for their senior year. Neither are truly ready for the NFL yet anyway. Getting Ingram back gives you an anchor for the interior OL. I bet next years line looks more like:
LT: Charles
LG: Ed Ingram
C: Cushenberry
RG: Kardell Thomas or Chasen Hines
RT: Deculus
Hopefully Thomas Perry, Rosenthal and Bradford can take the next step in year two and be ready to contribute if needed.

This^^. How does it benefit him to leave college early for the NFL amidst a cloud of problems, including multiple suspensions this year, especially when he's currently not an elite offensive lineman??
He's not asking me, but I'd say: stay, rehabilitate you career/reputation, advance your trade and further your education.
