Ok this will probably blow-up but here goes anyway. I know, I know, I know I will hear from everyone that Crowton isn't going anywhere but what if Miles comes to his senses and lets Crowton go and what if Jabba the Hut loses his job at ND. Would you like to see him as OC over here? The offense at ND is not so bad. What you think?

let me say this again..... who is picking up the 975k tab that we owe Crowton on the remaining two years of his contract? you really don't expect LSU to pay for that? I see crowton being here next year just from a financial standpoint that we are on the line for almost a million bucks.

thanks for the info....didn't know his salary, which is rather stupid to pay that much for him. Oh Well

Chump change at LSU. Money won't be an issue if they want to fire Crowton.

that is pennies compared to what a productive offense would garner

This may sound stupid...but what if Miles bolts for Michigan (which I don't think will happen). Is LSU still locked into its contract with Crowton or is Crowton's contract contingent upon Miles remaining head coach?

ill never understand you people.

Crowton has been here 3 years. year 1 LSU set school records for points, ppg, yards, TDs, rushing TDs, passes attempted, passes completed, total plays and first down, and LSU won the NC.

year 2 was supposed to be Perriloux, who would have been great based on what we saw.

needless to say that didnt happen. there was no solid backup in place, which is hardly Crowtons fault considering he'd been here barely a year. not that it might have mattered anyway. college football in general struggles to have solid backup play. for every Cincinnati there's anOklahoma.

this is year 3, and Jordan is a very solid starter considering his age. he has a 3 to 1 TD/INT ratio. he's only 12 days older than matt barkley but has more TDs, less INTs, a better completion percentage and QB rating, and hes done it against much better defensive players and coordinators.

Jordan is essentially right where Jimmy Clausen was his sophomore year. actually clausen wasnt even 2 to 1 for TD/INT (he was 25/17).

of course clausen was called a "10 year player" when he came out (see one that good every 10 years) and barkley has been a legend since his freshman year. they were both overall number ones.

im not happy with the offense either. i wish shep would have started against tech and thrown 15 times. I never thought coach stud had the resume to be here and i hope Miles helps him "find a better job" after the bowl. we've all heard that Jordan, let's just say he struggles with the playbook. of course the offense is gonna be stripped down and not like it was under Flynn. but Crowton has taken the player he had to work with and made him damn good.

things will be fine. things are fine. we all knew this was a transition year. the D is much better. Miles knows WTF the problems are, even if he doesnt cry about them to the press, you should all know that by now. the O will be better next year. Crowton didnt get dumb and forget how football works over night. unlike some of you apparently

That would be a very sick burn if the OP were trying to argue that JJ is not a good QB. The OP's concern is how Crowton has handled all the talent on offense. I think the tiger O has been sloppy, undisciplined, and confused most of this year and last. I don't think this is JJ or Lee's fault. If this was an experience problem, then things should have improved over the year.

Crowton doesnt make 975K, he makes 450,000 and coordinators typically have three year deals, his is done at the end of the season, now he got a raise this year, but thats it...he has not renewed anything... Crowton will be gone, id bet the farm on it..

LSU has dug it's own grave by paying these coaches too much and getting locked into long term contracts, these coaches aren't going anywhere for a long time and we are royally fricked unless they find some way to change and do a better job.

I wouldn't.

It was reported on the radio yesterday that Crowton will make $500K next year, and close to $900K the year after.

I can't think of any way to stop JJ's growth of being a great QB faster than replacing our offensive co-ordinator. Horrible idea.

And I thought the Hornets were too cheap to fire their coach, but they did. You never know what will happen.

I agree 100%. If Weis gets canned from ND, he is not going to stay in the college game. He is supposedly very arrogant and I just don't see him willing to do it. I don't see him going to be a head coach at a lesser school than ND, and I definitely don't see him accepting a coordinator job anywhere in the college ranks. If he gets canned, my bet is he will take the best job he can in the pros-- if a coordinator job isn't immediately open, then he will take a lesser job in the pros and work on becoming a coordinator again.
