Home plate ump --Florida native. Third base --Georgia native, Second Base--Alabama native. First base--Kentucky native who sued major leagues alleging he was discriminated against (by a woman) because he is bisexual. (SEC can really pick em)

shite happens. Yes it sucked but it is a “human error”. But to put time in on who is from where and their personal being, that’s just a bit much. We won, we are playing for a tournament championship title. Be humble you sloth.

See. Here’s the problem. You are ok with the results.

I’m NOT OK with the process.

The process was set up to get the wrong call.

The result was lucky.

These officials should NEVER call an SEC baseball game again.

Human error would have made the call on the field and let it go. That situation with that call was a worst case scenario. And the doubled down on it.

Fire all of them, and put computers in charge. lol.

My question is- why ISN'T it reviewable? What's so hard about making this "judgement" call reviewable so crap like this doesn't happen?

I did, I’ve also have played the game and coached the the game. It’s been over 2 hours since that call. And have also watched the replay multiple times. Reading the rule and seeing what happened, yes, The official call of the play is correct. Could the umpires of made the situation more clear on making the runner come back and touch the plate after their ruling, yes. Go back to the original call ,”out”. That guy is going back to the dugout. Call the catcher balk, have him come back to touch home. That’s where everyone gets their panties in a wad.

Dude, yes, umpires suck at times. Yes, I was unhappy with some calls against LSU today. But go back at what you are pissed off about. I’m all for LSU. I’m a season ticket holder. I’m Purple and Gold 1000%. But being pissed off on what has been explained in the rule book is stupid. Grow up

You coached and played little league. Great. You read the rule. Great. But the call was still wrong based on the rule. So shut the frick up!

Shocked. You are the guy who claims to know more than Peterson and the other pro ball players in the booth. You don’t. I’ve played and coached as well. Prove to me that the catcher touched the plate or was in front of the plate before possession of the ball… you can’t.

It’s a bad reversal of what happened on the field. It’s not a reviewable play, which got reviewed, and you seem to think your “hot take “ is right.

I’m not a fan of computers, I’ m also not a fan of a terrible ump who tried to decide a game and got caught. Computers even like the lesser of 2 evils at this point.

If you can’t see that a great baseball game is being thrown aside to talk about UMPS who should be in the shadows, I don’t know what to tell you.

This is the key. PLAYERS should decide games. Not some douchebag in blue who thinks it’s “his” game.

No reason trackman can't be used to call balls and strikes by the schools that already have it in use. It was used last season by the SEC to supposedly "evaluate" umpires on their performance. Meanwhile we still have inconsistent strike zones and umps that call games one way for one team and another way for their opponents.

The call was absolutely wrong and as an umpire, if you going to make that call in that situation, it better be as clear as day.

South Carolina made a terrible play call and LSU executed to get the out and it wasn’t close and the home plate ump called him out. How can he change his call without a review to, at the time, was the winning run? Absolutely atrocious and embarrassing for the SEC
