Carl..
Consider doing a story profiling the fans and the food, drinks and building of anticipation for Friday.
Pics would be great.. TD will not edit your pics, I'm sure!
I know stories have been done before about the LSU fans, but after being so used to winning the CWS and now dealing with this 9 year drought.. the fans there and here are truly starting to whip into a frenzy. Just egg em on more!
Thanks Carl

Good read, since you and Scott left, I don't get my share of "ponderings and movie references."
Keep up the good work,

My guess is the ESPN guys are considered "pawns", and since they added an "r" to Schimpf's name, making it sound like "shrimp", he'll do the same and add an "r" to pawns, i.e. "prawns"
Sort of. Prawns = shrimp. Def a reference to the ESPN mispronunciation of his name.

[Swing and a miss on my part. The rule is if you have to explain it, it's not funny.] It ain't funny period ... I wouldn't go there with the shrimp jokes.
IMO you also whiffed on :
[Mainieri thought he knew what he was getting into, but he didn't know like Mike Bianco and Jim Wells knew, and that's why Mainieri is where he is right now, three wins away from a national championship.] ??
[Jared Mitchell is fast, yes, but so was former Arkansas quarterback Matt Jones, whose long strides gave him deceptive speed. Mitchell looks fast when he runs, and that's why it's so much fun watching him motor.] Matt Jones??
[Tattoos last a lot longer than the whim to boldly imagine getting one. So do championships.] P.U.
OK it's a blog - and an off-day post at that - so no harm, no foul ... sorta like this cheap criticism. I'd never even be able to come up with those turkeys, let alone these gems :
[Micah Gibbs is the most overlooked player on the best team in college baseball.] Coaches' best friend.
[Derek Helenihi is the latest example of the importance of being patient and waiting for your turn.] I'm not proud of almost losing faith in him earlier this year ... you nailed it. Sorry, Derek.
[Leon Landry is the next.] From your lips to God's ears.
[You don't hear much talk these days about whether David Grewe is qualified to be a pitching coach.] Mainieri knows his stuff about quality people and he's been around some winners.
[Michael Hollander moved to third base in 2008 to make room for LeMahieu at shortstop. LeMahieu moved to second base in 2009 to make room for Austin Nola. That's how you hold the rope.] Yep.
Well put. Thanks and keep it coming.
Oh, and 3 days in a row ... you're starting the trend. Geaux Fightin' Sunflowers !!

Apacheba= Paul Finebaum>>>>Is that you?
Posted on 6/17/09 at 4:19 pm to ENYOMOUT
Well you picked the right insult. I've never even heard Finebaum so I dunno what makes me seem like him but to me he means Alabama ... and there ain't nobody NOMUTHAFGNBODY that hates Alabama more than me. You have hurt my feelings.
I like Dubois but he ain't holy I doubt he minds a little input besides all the attaboys.
