Alleva "floated" the story early in the week. There seems to be some major friction with Miles and was this a "warning shot" by Alleva to show Miles who's boss?

So now that the TAF wheels might be turning for real...is it possible that Alleva really didn't intend to let Miles go until next year?

And, Yahoo, NBC, CBS, NOLA.com have all quickly picked up on this story.

What's your point?

So what is the freakout level going to be when the Lunch with Les press conference goes on as planned with no announcement?

Well, that's what happens when you forget to sign correspondence with "Sike!"

It's possible Alleva doesn't know what the hell he's doing and should never have been hired. Possible

Maybe when it was first leaked after the Bama game. Perhaps it was leaked to hopefully get a spark in Les and get it into gear.

But after the last 2 games, it's clear that Miles is done and we will be making some moves once the season ends.

But no, I don't think Alleva really wanted to keep Les for next year.

Wouldn't go somfar as to say its gotten out of hand but should have handled it a lot better. If this does back fire and blows up on lsu he might have to be relocated to the other side of the world.

Agreed.

If Joe Alleva has to make a quick and unprepared decision about the next HC it could be very disastrous.

There has been big friction between Alleva and Miles for quite some time...

this all started last year, when chavis was forced out, by the stipulation in his contract. I don't think alleva had any intentions of keeping miles longer than the end of the 2016 season, it just so happened that les completely tanked after the bama game this year, which made his case even stronger. having said that, I hope alleva was prepared to move fast, because shite unraveled rather quick. he simply can't afford to make the wrong hire, because in the end, his job could be on the line too (in the long run).

Alleva is an image guy and has been waiting for this opportunity. The whole Miles clause with the Chavis situation shows clearly that Alleva was counting the days till he could get rid of Les. Tough situation for a coach when you don't have full support from above. But, I can understand Alleva not wanting any more buyout problems if a change was inevitable. If Alleva was handcuffing Les with the DC hire, he should damn well have his guy lined up. Otherwise he is as poorly prepared as our team was yesterday.

Why. Why would he HAVE to do that? Go to bed.

I could give a rat-arse if Alluvia's job is on the line. I care about the right hire because the wrong hire will set the program back literally 5-7 years!!!! I don't know about anyone else but it has been nice over the past 16years being relevant again!
