“ Time will tell”

There are only two LSU football coaches that I’m aware of who were hired with the expectation of both SEC championships and a national championship. Those two coaches were miles and Coach O.

When miles became unable to produce West titles, he was dispatched. The same will be true of Coach O and possibly even Joe if we don’t take the west soon. Coach O has been making gametime decisions for LSU since September 2016. There’s like 34 football games. Fair or not, if we don’t win the west or make the playoffs this coming season his coaching seat will become increasingly warm.

If it doesn’t, then the expectations of LSU head football coaches has decreased. imo

I’m amazed none of you Miles nut huggers can’t see how much your hero benefitted from following Saban...look at his first 3 years at LSU. Once Sabans players Jumbo left he was good but not great outside of 2011. The worst coach in Ole Miss history is on par with your hero since 2008 outside of one season

As if you can prove your statement.

There was absolutely no empirical data to suggest Les would have turned things aroun

Except for the data that showed he had already lost 5 and 4 games then gave lsu its greates sec title in 50 years.

while I agree with you, it was past time for him to grow considering he was given an ultimatum at the end of 2015. He refused to change from the comfort that was his style of football which wasn’t going to cut it in the SEC.

As I’ve stated in a previous post, that was the single greatest season in the history of LSU football outside of 1958. Because even in 2003 that Florida loss stung.

No coach accomplished what Miles accomplished that season with beating five top 25 ranked teams - three of which were in the top five - at the end of the season. No one has come close.

Yes he still needed to go.

You mean apart from that undefeated regular season and a trip to the natty? Yeah, wake me when your hero even gets close to that.

He is on pace for what got miles fired and had your football ignorant arse bashing him. Yet for some reason you have your nose tapping O's navel in every post.

1 sec title in 8 yrs is the standard? O should be up to the task. Why did miles have an 85% win percentage in his first 3 years? The following 8 things went south aside from 2011

Based on what? He just had his 2nd season ever to win more than 2 games.

He has beaten 1 good team in his entire career as a head coach and it was a 3 loss uga

His win % from 2012-day he was fired would be good for 3rd best in lsu history.

You have no clue what youre talking about.

Everything Miles did was because of Saban, and everything O does is in spite of Miles. Got it

Btw, Miles’ best four year stretch was 2010-2013, years 6-9.

2010-2012 tied his first three year record with a better SEC record.

His best two year stretch was 2010-2011.

Not a single Saban player on those teams.

Glad to see you qualify Miles’ early success with Jimbo, since he was hired by Saban.

We will certainly learn a whole lot more about O once Miles’ DC decides it’s time for a step up

You're trying WAY too hard here. This is possibly one of the most ridiculous things ever posted on the Rant. Orgeron has had one good season. He isn't on par with anyone yet and I was never even a fan of Miles.

Love it when we take away the best year of a guy’s career to judge it

Aside from 2003, Saban sucked at LSU

Take away 2018 and O, well, sucks
