re: O Will Always be Compared to Les, Saban, and Jimbo/Herman

Like it or not, that's simply going to be a fact of his tenure.
Why?
A) Les - that's who he succeeded and who was fired for (you can fill in the blank but in a word) underachievement. It was expected of him to win more than 8-9 games/yr.
B) Saban - main competition in the SECW; pacesetter in CFB
C) Jimbo/Herman - because those are the two guys he was ostensibly hired instead of.
If he wants to be considered a "success" he's going to have exceed Les's record and beat the others on the field.
But if you want to compare Les and Saban to Orgeron now, you can say that Saban > Orgeron > Miles.
Simply put Miles was doing a pathetic job at offense when he left, just like most years. Orgeron in year 2 has an equal offense by elevating Miles' QB coach and getting rid of Les himself. And next year should be a better year on offense

I'm just giving you shite, bro. We all mess up here and there. I don't agree with a lot of what you post, but we have to have balance. Post as much as you like.

I can take any flack I get and only turn into an arse when proded. I don’t see any reason to not be optimistic about next year and have said since day one O is here for a minimum of 3 probably 4 yrs unless he violates a code of conduct that would nullify his contract. I don’t melt over things I can’t control unlike many of the posters I try to rile up

There's so much wrong with this I don't even know where to begin.

I don't disagree with any of that at all. It's the over the top praise for O and the over the top accusing people of hating him for valid criticism as well as putting down what Miles accomplished to make what Orgeron is doing is what I disagree with.

You must have multiple personalities, but I agree with this one.

Go on... why do you say that?
Posted on 2/9/19 at 6:16 pm to TigerLunatik
Because I literally was criticizing over the top praise for O based on final AP ranking and you questioned me on it.
Posted on 2/9/19 at 6:22 pm to TrevRollings29
If that's the case, then I was mistaken. I was disagreeing with the idea that he needed to apologize for having what I consider a good season. In no way do I think it was a great season or that O is "crushing it" or that one season equals a trend. However, I do think that a top 10 finish with a top 5 recruiting class is a good season and that we should be optimistic for 2019.
In short, I don't think anything great or terrible has happened this past season and that we should wait to see how it plays out next season before making any real judgements.

I don’t know of any posts I’ve made that I’ve been over complimentary of O. Not agreeing with his haters doesn’t mean I’m praising his every move...I just know we have him for 3-4 yrs and being critical about everything he does isn’t going to accomplish anything.

This is a general statement that I'm making, but using these example of hyperbole.
People (me included) seem to speak in hyperbole and then it causes those that disagree with that hyperbole that sets off all of this great or terrible discussion. IMO the truth is in the middle and 2018 was a good season that hopefully Coach O can build on for 2019 to actually give us an amazing season.

Go ahead and point it out. Les gave us two years with only Harris and Jennings as options, and was going to go into year 3 and 4 with Harris. The only thing that saved us was that Etling's family knew Cam so he got an invite and transferred. That is inexcusable, especially since Les was supposed to have expertise on the offensive side of the ball.
Under Les the defense was only as good as our defensive coordinator yet that never stopped Les from throwing the defense under the bus in a loss. And should I even mention how far special teams fell under Miles and how quickly Orgeron fixed them?
Face it, under Orgeron a lot of the annoying management issues on offense are gone.

Lol ya. Took him 2 years because he failed to hire a special teams coordinator the first year. You must only be referencing field goals because our return game regressed.

Ya. Never saw him burn two time outs in one drive or fail to challenge an obvious TD.

I'm not saying that any side should be banned at all. Chicken should just appoint me to moderate the board. I could get creative and totally avoid bannage
See I had already addressed it and solved it without anyone getting banned.

The only reason I say great is bc of our final ranking. We haven’t finished that high since 2011. The ones that hate O focus on the negatives and don’t look at the positives. I think our offense will be dynamic next year...not Oklahoma dynamic lol but compared to what we have seen as LSU fans I think it will shut people up about ensminger. If not I will grab a pitchfork also.

Does Burrow come to LSU without Busch being on staff?
